Who: Winry and Natsu What: Apartment hunting Where: Summerbridge When: During the day Rating: Low Status: In Progress
It had been more than a month already since Winry had arrived in Preya and she couldn't say that things here were entirely terrible. In her mind though, it was only supposed to be temporary, at least until Edward sorted things out back home, but of course, she knew she would likely never see Edward or Alphonse again. She didn't think either of them would give up on their dream to get Al's body back, not even for her, and in some ways, she was okay with that. She only hoped that they were at least successful, especially since they knew she was safe now and wasn't so much of a distraction for them.
And so Winry resigned herself to a life here, still wishing she could go home eventually but figuring she still had to survive here so she could keep her hopes alive. As much as she loved Amestris and their small town of Resembool, she had to admit that it wasn't just the place that made it feel like home. It was the people. She thought about this as she made her way through Summerbridge in search of an apartment. Her automail business had been doing well thanks to the support of some of the other inhabitants of Preya, and she couldn't have been more grateful. But even as she wandered about in search of a new place of residence, she couldn't help but notice how expensive everything seemed to be.
With a frown, Winry walked into one building that had some signage about available apartments. It was all rather beautiful and spacious, something she could have easily fallen in love with had the price tag not been just slightly above what she could afford. It was such a shame too. Two bedrooms, a bathroom, a decent kitchen area and a lovely living area with a view from the floor to ceiling windows. Ah, if only... She sighed, disappointed that the one place she actually liked wasn't one she could actually live in, and decided to just start heading out. That's when she bumped into someone and let out a tiny gasp. "Oh, excuse me. I was just leaving," she said with a blush.
