El looked at him with a doubting expression. The thought of no Eggos! A quick shake of her head and she smiled, lowering her gaze back down to the open notebook in front of her.
Her handwriting had improved in the last few months and she had come on leaps and bounds in her education. And while she struggled with a variety of things that some others her own age and even younger found easy, there were things she could grasp that others her own age could not. The trick at this stage in her life was finding that comfortable balance and being able to grasp every new concept that came here way. That to be educated and taught was not a bad thing and that her past experiences would not repeat. She would not be taught in such harsh environments, she would not be experimented on. That took convincing. There were times when she couldn't read her teachers tone and felt like she were being pressured. She would lash out or cry, retreat into her own mind and try not to harm anyone. And over time, she was getting better and dealing with things.

El put her pencil down and picked up a fork, pulling the plate over towards herself to tuck into waffles, her mind still working through her new learning experiences in biology, as well as Will's thoughts he had previously voiced.
"What about Eggo's made from light?" she asked, cutting a very precise portion of waffle, picking it up with her fork to take a bite.
