Gou and Momo, it's definitely not a date (liiies)
Momo was a simple guy. Swimming. Video games. Beetles. See? Easy. In fact, before Gou appeared there in front of him to go for a walk, he was hunting beetles as per the usual, crouched down in a strange position so as to not alert them too terribly of his presence. He had a method, which likely seemed crazy to anyone watching him, of how to coax them out. He would speak to them softly, gently move blades of grass around them simulating the motion of the wind. And when they finally came out, he would stay perfectly still as they climbed up on his finger. Momo could be one with nature when he wanted to be, which was probably a curious thing considering he was sort of a spazz every other moment of his life.
So when he found out that Gou was here now, he sort of freaked -- ran in place for a hot minute as if he was stomping concrete down on the floor with his fists trembling like the aftershock of a 5.8 magnitude earthquake. Momo was a mess, but he was Rin's mess. And only Rin knew how to get him to calm down. Of course, it seemed as if nothing would ever get him to calm down now. All he had to do was just pretend like he was normal in front of Gou, right? Pretty simple. Swimming. Video games. Beetles. Easy. He laughed a little nervously as they walked, rubbing the back of his head and generally having not a single clue as to what to do with his hands. If only he had a dozen or so beetles walking around all over him, he wouldn't be this nervous. Jesus, was he sweating?
"Oh, I'm sure they will," he replied with a larger-than-necessary nod. "But they're finicky, you know? Sometimes they only like to come out when there's no one around. I think they're used to me by now, probably Rin too, so don't take it personal if it takes them a while to get used to you too..." He smiled and brought his arm down, crossing it with the other over his chest. Think, Momo. There's gotta be something not-stupid you can talk to her about. NOW'S YOUR CHANCE! "So uhm... you liking it here so far?" Ugh.... stupid. Well, it was a safe start for sure. Maybe he shouldn't be too hard on himself. Maybe things wouldn't be terrible. "There's lots of cool places. Maybe I could show you around some time, like, whenever you want." Too thirsty? Maybe just a little bit...
