"Enough of that," Gilmore said as he waved away whatever Vax was feeling-- guilt or sadness-- with friendly bluster. "I'll do as I please, as I always have. And sometimes that includes helping out a motley crew of heroes."
He decidedly did not like the way things were lingering upon seriousness. Gilmore did not care for feeling awkward. No, not in the slightest.
The middle finger of his right hand brushed over a rather ornate ring on his left finger, where one might wear a wedding band. It shed a deep, royal purple light that molted off onto the finger as it touched down upon the ring. The sorcerer drew a series of strange, arcane symbols into the air that lingered behind like hieroglyphics. With quiet, expert execution, he began to pluck at some of them and draw lines from one to the next, creating what seemed to be a bizarre diagram or map in the air, itself.
"Right, then. I don't particularly fancy walking back. Shall we, hmm?" He asked, extending his left hand, which now had veritable ribbons of purple magic swirling around it. When Vax took his hand, Gilmore spoke the incantation and the two of them were catapulted through space with a rush and abruptly ended their journey in the middle of Gilmore's Glorious Goods in Circuit Circle. It was a faithful recreation of his shop at Emon, down to the last gaudy gold embellishment.
"Come along, then," Gilmore said, catching Vax by the small of the back in case the half-elf experienced any of the common vertigo post-teleportation. "The office is this way." He took the man through the beaded curtain behind the counter, which opened up into a large room that bore a few pieces of exquisite furniture (equally as gaudy as the rest of the establishment, mind you). At the far end of the room was a gigantic mahogany desk. Upon the adjacent wall was an armoire, also mahogany.
"Now," proclaimed the sorcerer with every bit of showmanship fanfare that he was known for, "shall we see what I have in my drawers for you?"
With a snap of his fingers, the armoire flew open and displayed all the various costumes and fashions hidden inside. Though they spanned several styles and periods, from Exandrian to modern Earth, they were all very, very Gilmore.
