"I arrived on the beach," he replied. "Shortly before you found me." He grinned. "I was wearing more clothes at the time, of course." Still, he wasn't entirely sure what he should do with his life. He doubted there was much need for lessons in killing men here and fighting seemed to be low on the priority list as Gilmore seemed to make it seem. "Perhaps this will be an interesting way of figuring out my worth." In all his life, he thought his worth was measured in how good a brother he could be to his sister and then when it came to survival. Now that he didn't have that? Who was he? What was he good at? He supposed it was time to figure it out.
"I don't know if that's a place I want to return to," he began, "at least not right away." He wore a small grin. "Why don't you show me around Preya and the wonders of this new world." He nodded slowly, though, as Gilmore spoke of Scanlan's return. Well, of course Scalan could bounce about. It paid to have magic, he supposed. "You wouldn't happen to be hiring, would you?" he asked as an after thought, glancing around the shop. "I do have a charming smile and a knack for persuasion." Which...wasn't entirely true. He was no Scanlan, but he was quite charming.
