"Parties, social events," Edwin replied. "Usually for high profile individuals or organizations. For example, recently they arranged for the celebration the city threw to welcome the newly appointed Cabinet members. The florist that I'm currently employed at does business with her, providing arrangements. It sounds rather fun, actually."
He listened carefully to Miss Black's directions and committed them to memory with nods of his head, but it was her question that made him pause. He thought it over before answering, "The only magic that my world possesses is the type you described as slight of hand. When I was a lad, there was a fashion of people who claimed to be able to communicate with the dead, but those were often proven to be hoaxes. To be perfectly hadn't given the topic of magic much consideration, until I came here. I'm curious, and perhaps a little skeptical, but I'd like to think I have an open mind about these sorts of things." He then added, "If you are concerned that I'll have a negative reaction, then let me assure you, I'm not the type to pass judgement."
