He believed her. He actually believed her. As he embraced her, Hela wrapped her arms around him. For a moment, a thought occurred to her - could she actually not go through with it? Was there actually a chance for her? Her brothers weren't aware of her existence, so why should they suffer? Maybe she could find happiness too.
But just as quickly as that thought came, it also left. Her rage was far too great.
Once her arms were around him, she quickly summoned a sword from her hand and stabbed Loki right in the back.
"You sound just like him," she said, the words bitter on her lips. Letting go of him, she took a few steps back, then laughed. "My happiness will come from conquering the land and showing the Midgardians who is in control. That's true happiness. What a shame you'll never realize it."
Turning her back to him, she opened her portal and left. Her work here was done. One brother was gone. Now she had to take care of Thor, then nothing would stand in her way.
