He didn’t say no. He didn’t back away or try to hide from him. That was a start. It wasn’t the same as Yuri in Hasetsu. Victor tapped his mouth again, tilting his head skeptically as he met Yuri’s gaze and felt the young man withdraw from him. For a moment, he’d worried that Yuri would pull away completely, but he didn't. Instead, he just seemed surprised that Victor would want anything to do with him. Which just made Victor feel sad that Yuri apparently had very little self confidence. Oh, he’d known how he was in Hasetsu, but his self confidence seemed almost lower now. “I do,” Victor responded, smiling brightly in response. He didn’t yet reach back out to Yuri, letting him react exactly as he needed to.
“Would you like to kiss me, Yuri? Things happened differently in Hasetsu,” admitted Victor quietly. “I saw you skate, but I also wanted to come see you. You…mesmerized me, Yuri. I wanted to get to know you better, and I also saw a brilliant skater in you. I knew that you could so more than what you were doing then. More than that, you…we became closer.” Victor swallowed, but he winked again over at Yuri. “I may have had a selfish reason for asking you over tonight, Yuri. I just missed you.” He brushed a hand through his fringe of silver hair, letting a more somber gaze meet Yuri's. His eyes let his emotion show; it was an emotion of loneliness and weariness, something that very few people had ever seen in his expression.
