Who: Mydia (Mitch and Lydia) When: Sunday night (2/26/18) Where: Their apartment What: Lydia has a confession Why: Because Mitch needs to know Status: Complete Ratings: Heartbreaking
Lydia was beyond nervous. This whole thing was a mess, and people were getting hurt because of it. Her heart was racing a mile a minute as she urged Mitch to come home right away. There was nothing pretty about what was about to happen, sweats and a shirt hugged her frame with red hair tied back. Lydia was pacing around the living room. He was out with Cora, did she tell him? Was she too late? Did.. they do something together? A million questions ran through her head.
So when the door came open, Lydia froze in her steps, slowly turning to look towards Mitch. She looked a mess for the moment, eyes red from obvious crying she’d been doing. She didn’t care really. All she cared about was telling Mitch and fixing this.
--
Mitch had no idea why Lydia needed him home ASAP and he didn’t ask why. He just ended up leaving Cora and heading back home, wondering what could have happened to make her want him home right now.
It wasn’t long before he was walking through the door and seeing Lydia. She looked like a mess. It wasn’t the first time he’d seen her like that. Something happened. He just didn’t know what it was. Not yet. “What happened?” he asked as he started to move towards her.
* When he started to move towards her, Lydia moved back instantly, hands held up. “Don’t... Just… “ Lydia was struggling with her words. How was she going to tell him what happened… A deep sigh soon came to pass her lips as she lowered her hands.
“...Something happened last night…” She swallowed for the moment as she came close her eyes for the moment. Trying to find the words for this conversation. “With me and Stiles..”
--
Mitch stopped and gave Lydia a confused look. “What do you mean something happened last night?” Why did something always seem to happen when those two were around each other? He could help but look her over again. She didn’t look hurt, but he couldn’t see every inch of her body, so if she were it could be hidden. “What happened, Lydia?” He wanted, no, needed to know. Like, right now. Because she was acting too damn weird and he didn’t like it.
* She watched the way he looked at her for the moment. A deep sigh escaped her lips. It was now or never and never wasn’t an option. “We slept together…” She said as her voice cracked at just the confession of her words. Her lower lip trembled as she took a step towards him. “I swear, we didn’t mean for it to happen..” She said as she moved towards him quickly.
--
That was not what Mitch had expected to hear Lydia say, but she said it. He had been prepared to hear about some new person or thing coming after them since it seemed like danger followed them. But that wasn’t what happened last night.
We slept together…
It felt like his insides just hit the ground. He always had this bad feeling when it came to those two, but he never thought they would cross the line. “Don’t,” he told her as he motioned for her to stay where she was. “Oh, let me guess, you just tripped and fell on top of one another.” There was no hint of sarcasm in that sentence. He was hurt and pissed off. “There’s no such thing as not meaning to. You either want to do something or you don’t.”
* When Mitch told her don’t she froze in her steps. HEr hands quickly pulling back into her chest tightly. She felt like she couldn’t breathe. But she tried. Forced herself to swallow down and breath. “Mitch… I swear we’ve never done anything before, last night… It just… it happened.” She wanted to run towards him, grab him. Just feel him close to her again. But she knew she couldn’t.
“Mitch… I’m so sorry..” She was crying at this point. They’d crossed a line, and now others were suffering because of it. “Tell me... How to fix this. Please.” She took a step towards him, even despite him telling her not too.
--
“Stop saying that! Just stop with the whole it just happened. It didn’t just happen.” If he had to hear that one more time, who knew what he might do. He just didn’t want to hear it anymore. Things just didn’t happen. There was always a sequence of events that lead up to the act. So, no, it didn’t just magically happen.
“I can’t believe I was stupid enough to think that nothing would ever happen. Thought I was enough for you. Or were you with me because you couldn’t have him? Is that what this was between us. Just a placeholder until you could get who you really wanted?” That’s how it felt. “I don’t know, Lydia,” he took a step back, “I don’t think you can fix this.”
* “No no no no!” Already she moved towards him and grabbed his face. She wanted him to look at her. “Mitch, that is not what this is. I want you, only you.” When he asked if he was enough she nodded her head. “You are more than enough… I fucked up. I did, but you have to try and believe me, nothing has ever happened before.”
She stared at him. “I swear it… It just… Mitch please.” She came to bring her hands to his chest to grip at his shirt. “Please, I never meant for this to happen… You have to believe me. I want you. Not Stiles or anyone else. Just you”
--
Mitch looked at Lydia, but he moved away. He didn’t want her to touch him. “I don’t believe you.” Not right now. He didn’t believe anything that was coming out of her mouth. “If I were enough, you wouldn’t have done what you did.”
He shook his head. “It happened. You didn’t stop it.” He looked down and shook his head. “I would have never done anything like this to you.” He took back up and took another step backward. “I need to go… You need to not be here when I get back.”
* When he moved away from her again, it just caused her to cry more. But when he said she needed to be gone when he returned she shook her head. “Mitch... Please…” She begged at this point. “Please… I .. I don’t want to leave… This can’t be the end… “ She was shaking at this point.
That pressure slowly building in her throat as she fought against it. “I..I don’t want to lose you, just... Please, I’ll do anything to fix this. I can’t be without you.”
--
If this were any other time, Mitch would be grabbing her and holding her close since he hated to see her cry. But not this time. She fucked up and she hurt him. She had only herself to blame. He just kept shaking his head as she spoke. He had nothing else to say, he really didn’t. Not until she finished with her begging. “You should have thought of that before you fucked him!”
* When he screamed at her, it caused Lydia to cry harder. “I’m sorry! It just happened!” She cried harder as she gripped his shirt as tight as possible. “I fucked up, I know I did, I’m not stupid... I’m human! I made a mistake!” She cried harder at this point.
“Mitch... I’m nothing without you..” Which was saying a lot, since Lydia didn’t depend on people. But she had devoted herself to Mitch, and in one moment her world crumbled around her. “I don’t want this to end. I don’t want to not come home to you.”
--
“Stop saying that!” God, he wanted her to stop saying that it just happened. He grabbed her hands and pulled them free of his shirt. “I can’t do this with you. You keep saying all of these things and I just can’t believe you right now.” He let go of her hands and took another step back.
“I feel pretty fucking stupid right now. I knew you two had a connection. I could see it every time we were all around one another. I ignored my gut feeling about it all… I’d rather be back in Paris getting shot at then deal with this.” That was easier. This. This was not.
* When he grabbed her hands she just stared at him. No, it didn’t hurt. But it was the fact that he didn’t want her to touch him, that made her feel sick. Well, sicker than she already felt. “Mitch, it wasn’t like that!” She cried out again. Trying to make him understand. That small shout had caused his apartment to shake slightly. Since Lydia was holding in her emotions.
“You don’t mean that.” She said about him wishing to be back in Paris, instead of here. “But it’s the truth! It happened! But I swear I won’t happen again. I’ll stay away from Stiles. Please, Mitch... I don’t want to be without you.”
--
“Then how was it, hm? Tell me.” If she was going to say shit like that, then she needed to explain herself. “And you keep saying over and over that it just happened. Nothing just happens! But, please, tell me how did it just happen because I’m very curious how something like that could just happen.” If she wanted to keep insisting on it, then he was going to make her explain.
“Right now? Yeah, I do mean it.” That stuff he understood and could deal with. This was nothing something he wanted to deal with. “I wish I could believe you, but right now you’ve lost my trust.”
* “It was a mistake!” She screamed out as she brought her hands to the side of her head for the moment. “It’s... I can’t explain it. Things just got..out of hand…” She knew that really didn’t sound great. Emerald eyes came to look at her hands as she took note of the bracelet for a moment. Exhaling deeply as she looked back to Mitch.
“What do you want from me, Mitch…Just... Please, tell me what to do…” She was shaking at this point as she watched him closely. “I don’t want to be with Stiles, I want to be with you. Just us. Here. Please.. Don’t make me leave you…”
--
That explanation really didn’t do anything. It didn’t change his mind or anything. “Uh huh.” He followed her gaze to the bracelet. That was new. He had a feeling he knew where it came from. He couldn’t compete.
“If you wanted it to just be us, you wouldn’t have let things happen. For now, I just want you gone. So, please, for fucks sake don’t be here when I get back.” He opened the door, gave her one last look before he walked out, slamming the door shut behind him.
