"There are no price tags on the books" he replied. "But there is a basic price listing based upon genre beside the till" he said, pointing back to the cash register. "Customers do not come by very often, most of our transactions are done on the phone, especially when it comes to rarer texts. And no, I had to rework this place from the ground up alone..." he added.
He had not been thrilled about the amount of cleaning and sorting he had to do when he had arrived. He was accustomed to getting more help with those sorts of things but he didn't have the help so he worked at it alone. The shop had been a labour of love over the last few months and it was finally the way he wanted it. It was clean, it was as tidy as he could bear. It was his shop. He missed the classroom sometimes but he enjoyed the peace his current job brought.
"You are permitted to regular breaks, given that work here is slow. That means if you do get to work here I may give you a room upstairs to use as a workshop should you need to work on other projects when there is nothing to do here" he said, hoping that would make her happy. He had his own work space upstairs. No on was permitted to enter.
