"You'd be surprised how easy it is to function without a heart," Gabriel smirked to himself, and even if he knew Genji couldn't see it, he was pretty sure he'd hear it in his voice. He meant both figuratively and literally at this point. The thing about having a constantly deconstructing and reconstructing body was that he was never quite sure which parts were working in their conventional ways an when they weren't. His own anatomy still escaped him more often than not. But, as long as his legs and arms could still carry him forward he wasn't as concerned about the rest. At least he didn't smell like he was dead. That'd make stealthy tactics all the more difficult.
The idea of fighting with toy swords for the entertainment of others seemed like such a waste, though. Couldn't there at least have been some risk of injury? Something to show more of the consequences of a real fight instead of a ridiculous romanticized version? Seemed like a waste of time, even if he knew that was sort of par for the course for the form of entertainment they were going for.
"A regular pair of Frankenstein's monster," he conceded. He didn't necessarily disagree with Genji either. People often feared and destroyed what they didn't understand, though at least the people of Everdale were more diverse than the surrounding scenery implied. If they hadn't been at least a little bit familiar with advanced technology then the witch hunt probably would have already been on.
"Most of these people probably haven't even seen a real fight. Real death, real war. A reality check wouldn't be the worst thing to give them."
