"Ah, the whole heaven and hell thing. I suppose it follows you would have that sort of system being an Angel of Death. I have dabbled a little in it when I escorted someone with an unusually powerful belief. Generally, though, if someone isn't able to move on to what comes next, I show them the way to the Desert, where they can walk on alone. Or to one of the Doors of Reincarnation, if that is their chosen path. The ones who end up with some sort of unpleasant judgement tend to believe it is what they deserve. When they get over that belief, they find themselves suddenly able to move on. It can take a while for some of them. In the long run, I find it better for all involved to just be Death, and dispense with all the religious overtones."
She nodded. "I have heard of that before. Most of the witches I know tend to ignore all of that power gathering silliness. Wizards," Susan made a quick dismissive gesture with one hand, "not so much. Their Unseen University in Ankh Morpork has so much latent magic gathered over the years that the rats have evolved sapience. Which is how Death of Rats came about. The little nuisance will probably show up here sooner or later, by the way. He seems to find me amusing and frequently follows me about, usually in the company of a Raven named Quoth. I recommend you not encourage them; you'll never be rid of them."
