To her first three questions, he simply nodded in return. Yes, he was Azrael, yes he owned Limbo, yes it was all his. He wanted to hear what else she had to say, so with patience he waited and when she spoke, he listened to every word. She was full of curiosity, full of insight. She had so much to say and Azrael had to find a way to tackle each point she brought up.
"Tell you what, I'll answer everything... but you gotta slow down a bit, for me" he smiled kindly. "I'll share a drink with you and call the next one on me, okay?" he offered, pouring himself a drink As he poured the liquid slowly, he started.
"First, I'm glad you got here safe and sound" he said, gesturing with the bottle to top up her drink. "Secondly, the big metal thing? It's a train. Still remember when I saw the first steam train... It was impressive. Humans had come so far" he said as he topped up her glass. He placed the bottle back down and picked up his own glass.
"Third. This bottle was one of a few given to me a long time ago. I keep it for special first meetings" he smiled softly. "Fourth, if you come here, you're never getting swill. And lastly..." he paused, taking a small drink from the glass. He savoured the flavour a moment before swallowing, each flavour washing over his palette bringing about memory after memory.
"This?" he asked, clasping the crystal between his fingers protectively. "It's... It's hard to explain. It's a part of me but it isn't. It's connected to me and it's connected to my home, but it isn't. I can feel the presence of family, of my home through this shard, through this piece. It's from something called a Heart which ties me to Heaven. And it's probably worth more than anything in the world to those who know and worth nothing to people who don't"
He didn't want to say anymore. He stopped to give her enough time to take in what he had said, to maybe ask questions of her own or give any thought of insight. He saw she was a very observant and intelligent woman. He was certain whatever she had to say would be interesting.
