Stiles had agreed to leave the house with Scott. Only because he was getting tired of looking at the same four walls. He even agreed to get on the bike. Why? He had no idea because by the time they reached the park, Stiles had had enough of it. “Next time,” he started to say as he climbed off, “we’re taking the jeep!” He stepped up onto the sidewalk and waited for Scott to climb off of the bike. “I’m fine with being out of the house, but why are we at the park? I thought by now you would have had your fill of kids,” he said, trying to hold back the smile that wanted to cross his lips. He remembered everything from that week and he knew how much of a pain they had all been towards Scott and Art. More towards Art because Stiles wasn’t a fan of her’s then or now. * Scott had been something of a risky driver on his dirtbike even before he’d been turned into a werewolf. Now he was downright reckless. He wove in and out of traffic, between cars and around people. Hey, he didn’t have to worry about wrecking with Stiles anymore. All though he was pretty sure his best friend had forgotten that part that came with the bite. The bike’s back tire slid to the side when Scott put on the brakes, kicking up a cloud of snow. Scott smirked over his shoulder at Stiles for the complaint. The kickstand was set in place then Scott got off the bike as well. “We’re not staying in the main area,” he said as he started walking toward the tree line. “Come on.” * Stiles hadn't forgotten that he's a little more indestructible now, but that didn't mean he wanted to find out just how badly they could get hurt without it killing them. Not to mention it hadn't been that long ago since he was knocking on death's door. He rolled his eyes at the smirk that Scott flashed his ways. He'll get payback for this little ride. Oh yes. Until then, he would just go along with whatever Scott had up his sleeve. "Okay," he said as she started to follow Scott. "Why are we coming out here for?" * “You’ll see,” was all Scott would say as he led Stiles into the woods. He wanted them as far from people as they could get in case this went poorly. Stiles needed to face some reality, and now that shit had stopped screwing with them it was time. There was a certain amount of hurry up involved. The full moon wasn’t that far away. Once the scent of humans was faint enough Scott stopped. “Here,” he said. “Take a deep breath.” Scott inhaled deeply as if in demonstration. “Tell me what you smell.” * Stiles should have known that Scott wouldn't tell him. So, instead of asking five hundred more questions that wouldn't get an answer, he just kept on following Scott, looking around as they walked. He stopped just in time. He had been paying far more attention to their surroundings than what Scott was doing until he stopped walking. He took a step back and gave him a look at first. He knew what they were doing now. It wasn't that long ago when he was helping Scott deal with being a werewolf and now it looked like the tables were being turned. He breathed in deeply, just like Scott had. There were definitely a few different scents that the was picking up. "You for one," he told Scott with a small smirk before continuing on, "the trees. The dirt. Some animal that's nearby." * At least Stiles didn’t get stubborn. That was coming eventually. Scott was ready for it. He grinned for the reference to his scent. Even this new they were both really familiar with each other’s scent. For the rest, he nodded. “Yeah,” he confirmed then turned to look at Stiles. “Close your eyes,” he said. “Then tell me what you hear.” * "We couldn't do this at home?" Why did they have to come all the way out here to do this? He closed his eyes and listened. "I don't know..." he said before he bothered to even try listening in on anything. It was still weird having these heightened senses. He knew Scott was just trying to help, but he felt like he didn't really need it or want it right now. "Heartbeats...giggling..." He was pretty sure that was the kids a the park. It was faint, but he could sort of make it out, which meant they weren't as far away from the park as it seemed. He opened his eyes and looked over at Scott, wondering what he was going to have to do next. * What was he going to do next? As soon as Stiles opened his eyes Scott took a swing at him. It was half speed and without much umph behind it. He didn’t want to hurt Stiles, but he did want to make him react. * He saw it coming in the corner of his eye and blocked it and without even thinking he swung a punch right back. The only difference was that he didn't hold back. "What the fuck? That was stupid." No, he was not going to apologize for hitting Scott. It was still stupid, though. * Whoa! Scott actually felt that. Stiles apparently would be able to hold his own when it came down to it. Despite the blood trickle coming from his nose, Scott grinned. “Guess you don’t need the bat anymore.” He swiped his wrist under his nose to wipe the blood off. “Why was that stupid?” He didn’t think it was, but he wanted to hear why Stiles thought it was. * It wasn't like Stiles couldn't fight before. He punched Jackson before. He just didn't have much when it came to supernatural things that came after them, which is why he had the bat. "I guess not." Stiles watched Scott and shrugged. "Because I can't exactly control myself right now..." He knew that was why they were out there in the woods, but he also didn't want to lose control and hurt Scott. * “So?” Scott said. “You need to learn where that line is or you’ll be afraid of losing control forever and never actually gain it.” He took another swing at Stiles, advancing toward him at the same time. He still wasn’t at full strength and his eyes were still human. No need to break out the Alpha just yet. * "And you want me to learn that right now." Obviously, since Scott was swinging at him yet again and he blocked it yet again. He stepped back, but since Scott was advancing on him, he pushed him away. "Knock it off." He was starting to get annoyed since he didn't want to do this. * “Make me,” Scott said as he batted Stiles’ hands away and continued to advance. “What are you afraid of, hurting me? You can’t.” Not entirely true, but close enough. Scott could keep Stiles from hurting him one way or another. Stiles needed to find his line so he could find his anchor, but logic had nothing to do with something like this. * Stiles pushed at Scott again except this time it was a bit harder. "Are you sure about that?" He didn't really want to find out, but Scott wasn't backing down. "I don't want to do this anymore," he told him with another push. * “Too bad,” Scott said. “This is reality. This is your life now. And only someone that’s afraid says they don’t want to anymore.” He was trying to provoke Stiles through his words as well as his actions so this time he backed up his words with a hard shove. * "I didnt want this!" He pushed back even harder this time. "I didn't ask for it. I told him no!" He wasn't holding back anymore. His emotions were getting the best of him now. Scott wanted a reaction. He was getting one now. His eyes flashing gold. "I'm done with...whatever this is!" He shoved Scott away and then started to walk away. * “I never said you did!” Scott practically barked back. “But want it or not this is fact!” Scott hadn’t wanted it either. He hadn’t had a chance to say no, but Peter had bit him anyway. He had his chance to knock Peter down. Stiles would have to square off with Gideon sooner or later. Scott managed to see Stiles’ eyes go golden before he got shoved. A growl entered his voice as Stiles turned his back on him. “I don’t care,” he said. “I’m not. Done. With. YOU!” His roar entered his voice on the last word as his eyes went Alpha red. * "You might as well be!" he shouted back. "This is reality," he mocked what had been said to him. "You didn't exactly accept it all at first either!" So, why did it feel like he couldn't push it away right now and not accept that this had happened to him? He was leaving. That's what he had in his head. He didn't care if he had to walk home. But he was so done with this. That is until Scott decided to get all Alpha-y. He stopped and turned. "And what are you going to do? Hmm?" * Stiles had stopped. Good. That was all Scott had wanted. Well, and have Stiles listen to him, too, which seemed to be the case finally. The red faded from Scott’s eyes leaving a worried look on his face. “What I’m going to do,” he said in a tired voice. “Is chain you up in a little over a week so you don’t hurt anyone. Unless you work with me and we find your anchor.” * Stiles stood there for a moment just looking at Scott, his eyes still golden. The full moon was in a few days, he knew that. He also knew he'd have to be chained up and locked away because he had no control. Not yet. But the thought of finding his anchor by Wednesday was funny, which was why he started to laugh. "We probably should have been working on this a lot sooner. You're going to end up locking me up anyway. You went crazy on the full moon. Liam did too. I doubt I will be any different." * “I don’t,” Scott said as he walked toward Stiles, this time a lot less aggressively. “Because you’re the one who was there for me. You’re the logical one. The strategist. You don’t let emotions control you and that’s what it is to be a werewolf on the full moon.” He reached out to put his hand on Stiles’ shoulder when he reached his best friend. “Mom told me after Allison and I broke up that I could be my own anchor. Maybe that’s you, too.” * Stiles looked down at the ground for a moment as Scott spoke. Yeah, that was how he used to be. Before he went through everything that had gone through. He wasn't totally sure if he'd be clear-headed when the full moon rose on Wednesday. He finally looked up, eyes went back to his normal color. "That was then. You should still chain me up. Just in case." He didn't want to get free and maybe hurt someone. He already had that type of guilt already from when the Nogitsune had control over him, he didn't need more of it. "Well, your Mom is pretty smart." He smirked a little. "Maybe I can be and maybe it'll be something else. Who knows. Because I sure as hell don't right now." * “Oh I sure as hell wasn’t going to let you run loose,” Scott said. He chuckled as he gave Stiles that patient smile that was probably more annoying than anything. “I’m not that stupid. Just stupid enough to pick a fight with you.” This time he put both hands on Stiles’ shoulders and stepped into him a little more. “You won’t be alone. You have me and Cora. You’ll be fine.” * "See, you know I shouldn't be trusted on the full moon. Not yet anyway." He had a feeling it might take a few full moons before he got a handle on himself. Until then it was chains. "You're stupid enough," he said with a smile, "That's why I'm the one who comes up with the plans." He knew that. He did. They were the only reason why he hadn't completely lost control now. They kept him sane. "I know. I know. Maybe it won't be so bad since I'll have you both." That's what he was hoping. He grabbed Scott and pulled him into a hug. * The hug was inevitable. Scott was going to pull Stiles in if he hadn’t so his arms went around his best friend tightly. “Hey, at least you don’t have to rely on Derek or Peter.” He smiled as he kissed Stiles’ shoulder then pulled back. “And you are way hot with beta eyes.” He grinned expecting to get swatted for that. * They could stay like that for a while, Stiles wouldn't mind it one bit. But Scott was the first to pull away, breaking the hug. What Scott said next, that made Stiles grin. It was definitely something he wasn't going to forget since he could use that knowledge against Scott. He grinned even more if that were possible and let his eyes change from brown to gold again. "You know I'm going to use this against you whenever I want, right?" * “You know I’m really not going to complain,” was Scott’s reply just before he grabbed the front of Stiles’ shirt then pulled him in for a thorough kiss. * "You might." Then again, Scott was probably right. Either way, Stiles was definitely going to have some fun with it. He let himself get pulled back in and he kissed Scott back. He ran his fingers through Scott's hair before pulling away a bit, breaking the kiss. "Now I really wish we had come here in the jeep." * Scott chuckled before he stole another kiss. “You lack patience,” he said with a hint of a growl in his voice. * “You’ve known me for how long and you’re barely figuring this out?” He kissed Scott again. “Soooo, what are we going to do now…?” * Scott had accomplished what he’d set out to do. Little steps. Rushing things would just cause anxiety which would go against everything they were trying to handle. So, he didn’t want to push anymore today. “Now?” he asked without letting go of Stiles. “I’m thinking pizza and a movie.” * Stiles thought for sure they were going to go back to doing whatever little tests Scott had in mind, but it looked like they were done with that stuff for the day. Good, because he really didn’t feel like doing any of that. “Yes, now,” he said with a slight nod of his head as he started play with Scott’s hair. “Pizza and a movie...that almost sounds like a date.” He grinned. “Let’s go because now you got me wanting pizza.” He gave Scott a quick kiss, but still didn’t move away. “After we go home and I get to have my way with you.” * “A date?” Scott laughed. “We’ve done a movie and pizza a million times since we were kids. Are you saying we’ve been dating this whole time?” The hair thing actually felt good, but if he wanted to avoid dog and leg thumping jokes he would never admit that out loud. Of course, the kiss was even better and he grinned after. “I’m terrified.” * “A date,” Stiles repeated. “Yeah, we have, but we weren’t kissing and fucking back then either,” he pointed out. He let his fingers curl around pieces of Scott’s hair as he spoke. He liked doing it. No real idea, why, but he did. Grinning. “You’re not, but you can keep on pretending. I like it.” He stole one last kiss before pulling away. “So, are we going on your death trap or what?” * “True.” Scott gave an amused snort. “I think your dad would either have had a fit or been way too happy about it if we had been.” Sometimes guessing how Stiles’ dad would react was far different than how he actually did. He laughed as he gave a half hearted effort to swat at Stiles. “It’s not a death trap. You’re just a weenie.” * “Hmm…” Stiles had to think about it for a moment. “No idea, really. I mean he didn’t believe me when I tried to say that I was gay.” So, he really had no idea how his dad would react if he found out that he and Scott were hooking up now. He easily dodged the swat and rolled his eyes at what Scott had said. “I’m sorry that I don’t like the idea of becoming pancake on the side of the road.” Werewolf now or not. He still didn’t like the image in his head. “And for calling me that, you can carry me.” He quickly jumped onto Scott’s back and held on. “Onward!” * “Oh my god, you freak!” Scott laughed as he stumbled a bit to keep from dropping Stiles or both of them to the ground. His arms wrapped around Stiles’ legs automatically before he smirked over his shoulder. “You are going to regret this.” That was the only warning Scott gave before he put on a burst of speed and started weaving through the trees. |
