Austin nodded when she said it seemed like an odd place. Shaking his head, he looked at her.
"No. They all lived in New York. My aunt and uncle, his parents lived out there. A lot of our family did. My grandparents lived here though. Still do. We're staying with them, actually. We lived in Texas all my life but we visited a lot. I guess they came here because its calm compared to what they know."
He shrugged. "That's what I would do, anyway."
As they continued walking, he would glance at her every now and then as he listened. He laughed softly when she stumbled a bit on an apology of sorts. "Hey, it's cool, dude. I know what you meant."
He looked up as she called out the restaurant. He nodded at her mention of the park shortly after.
"Park after this," he agreed and made his way into the coffee shop, heading up to the line. He turned to her as they waited.
"So what brought you here? If you don't mind me asking."
