"No there's not. I mean we could sit here and try and guess all night but that's just guessing," Dean told her with a half smile. "But does it matter where we'd be if we hadn't done what we did? We were always still there for each other you know?" he said, reaching out with one hand to pull her to him gently so that he could hug her with one arm.
"I missed you too. I told my parents I came home because I was worried about Amelia and I was tired of living in New York but that's not true. Not entirely. I missed being able to be honest with the people I spent time with. I missed being able to do this - movies, Chinese, random conversations with you," he said quietly. He was friends with Dylan and Hayden, most of the people he'd gone to high school with. But he'd always been able to unwind differently with Emily. It wasn't uncommon for them to spend an entire night hanging out and talking about anything that either of them could think of.
