"Kind of hoping it'll be me at this point," she half-joked. Ing wasn't sure shy she'd even stayed at this party. Support for her brother, sure, but she knew parties didn't tend to go well for her. Even when her ex-boyfriend wasn't in the crowd, it tended to be too much to be stuck in a crowd of people like this.
Ing let him lead her into the other room, her hand clinging to his as though it was a lifeline. Ing wasn't sure how she'd managed before he came home. She had her other friends, sure, but there had always been something comforting about being close to Dean. He always knew how to make her feel better.
The room they stepped into was still pretty crowded, though, and she shook her head, tugging him back towards the door. "Let's go outside?" she suggested. "I think I could use some air." She was having trouble blocking out all of the thoughts and she hoped that stepping out into the night air would help.
