Thread! Who: Candy Thompson and Theo Morgenstern. What: She's telling him that she's pregnant. Oops? Where: Candy's Apartment. When: Friday February 8, 2013 evening. Rating: R for safety.
Candy had maybe have undertaken a task that was a little more than she could handle. Taking measurements, designing costumes and putting them together was a lot harder than she had thought.
The pressure of the deadline was slowly driving her mad. She hasn't had time to think or focus on much else. Which was probably why she had not realized she was late. It hadn't been until she sucked it up and went to the doctor hoping for some antibiotics.
After some blood work, her doctor called her back to deliver her congratulations. Candy wouldn't say she was in shock. She was more confused. She was generally really careful and always tried to make sure protection was used. And she didn't often forget to take the pill. It only happened on occasion...
Though she supposed how didn't really matter now. What mattered was figuring out what she...what they were going to do now.
She didn't know how she was supposed to deliver the news. All she knew was Theo had a right to know. A right to be involved. Others may have considered taking care of the situation or keeping it to themselves but not Candy. It was a decision that she couldn't imagine making on her own.
After a quick call to Theo inviting him over for dinner, she moved on to preparations. Dinner, shower, and nicely kicking her roommate out for the evening.
[Fade to after dinner....]
Dinner had passed by quickly. Too quickly if you asked Candy. There hasn't been what felt like the right time to deliver her announcement.
Her nerves were rattling around inside of her. It wasn't that she was afraid of his reaction...both their lives were about to change and she wasn't sure she was ready to admit that.
Once the dishes were cleaned up and they were sitting on the couch she turned toward him.
"I don't know the right way to say this," Candy began, looking up into his familiar eyes. "There isn't a book for this part though there really should be," she said, mumbling in digression from her point briefly. She shook her head gently as if clearing out the distracted thoughts.
"I went to the doctor and she called earlier to let me know...to tell me that I'm...that the blood test she ran showed that I'm pregnant. Or we're pregnant?" Her right hand unconsciously moved to her stomach as she finally said the word pregnant.
