She paid for the next round and she then reached for another drink for herself, bringing to her lips much more slowly this time.
"It's not over yet, after all." She was downing the next shot, tilting her head back as it went down. The burn had all but stopped now and she felt her head spin just a bit as she glanced over at him, laughing even more now.
"And I'm caught up," she said, looking for the next glass. Truthfully, she couldn't remember how many shots they'd had, though they'd drank them together so they were even so far. All she did know aside from that, was that she was starting to really feel the effects of the alcohol.
She carefully slipped down from the barstool and when she did, she took one unsteady step back as she went to remove her shrug. Fortunately, she caught the edge of the bar before falling and steadied herself.
"Don't think I'm giving up yet," she said. "But it is getting warm in here!"
She slipped the shrug off, baring her shoulders now in the strapless dress, then she slipped back onto the barstool. "Ready for another?"
