Victoria was pregnant. She had been on birth control since she was fifteen, but she was pregnant. She couldn't begin to fathom how or why this had happened. She knew one thing, though… her boyfriend was going to be ecstatic. It hadn't been too terribly long since they'd argued about this… about her unwillingness to get fat and gross. She'd tried to explain that it didn't mean she didn't want to have children with him, but he hadn't seemed to understand. She still didn't want to get fat and gross, but there was nothing she could do about it now. Not that she would do anything about it if she could. As stated, her boyfriend was going to be ecstatic, and a part of her was happy simply because he was going to be happy. Sure… it was going to suck when she lost her perfect body, but she told herself that his happiness was worth it… that she would make that sacrifice for him because there was nothing he wouldn't do for her. "Baby…" she murmured as she came into the living room and dropped onto the sofa next to him. "I have something to tell you." She had taken the pregnancy test that morning, but this was the first time they'd been alone since he'd gotten home from school. Expecting him to react favorably to the news, there was a genuine smile on her face, and she shifted so that she could look him in the eye. When she thought about it, it was kind of exciting... ish. She was probably going to be the worst mother on the face of the planet and that terrified her, but she wanted to have a family with the man sitting next to her. They were starting a little sooner than she would've liked, but that was alright. Everything was going to work out. As long as she had him, nothing could go wrong. Josh had been having a rough day. He'd overslept this morning and missed breakfast. Ever since then, it was like his internal clock was off. He felt like he was late for everything today. No matter what he did, he just couldn't seem to be on time and it was making him increasingly grumpy as the day wore on. Needless to say, he'd been more than ready to head home after class. He'd given his girlfriend a brief kiss before announcing that he was going to watch some tv and then he'd plopped down on the sofa to do just that. Luckily, there was a channel that seemed to show MythBusters around the clock and he was able to lose himself in one of his favorite shows before too much longer. He wasn't sure how long he'd sat there, but Josh was in a better mood when his girlfriend dropped onto the sofa next to him. He turned to face her, flashing her a grin of his own and when she said she had something to tell him, he pressed the power button on the remote so that he could give her his full attention. "What is it?" he asked her. His brow furrowed slightly as he wondered what it could be. Regardless of the smile on her face, the words I have something to tell you rarely seemed to lead to good news. At least, they never did in the movies. |
