Dari could barely contain her excitement. Despite the happiness that threatened to bubble over at any moment, though, she didn’t want to just blurt out the news. Maybe it was silly, but she wanted to find some completely adorable and special way to tell Jeremy they were finally expecting again. When she’d been pregnant with Taylor, she hadn’t really gotten to tell him. She wanted to do it right this time, even if she knew beyond any doubt that he would be just as thrilled as he would. She didn’t know why she’d held onto the pregnancy test she’d taken. It seemed a little silly at the time, but she hadn’t been able to make herself throw it away. Dari and Jeremy had been trying to conceive for months now. She didn’t merely want to pitch the proof they’d finally succeeded into the garbage. That turned out to be a good thing, though. An idea came to her as she held the test in her hand once more, a smile spreading over her face as she studied the positive result. Moments later, she’d fished out a small box and some wrapping paper. She carefully placed the test in the box, wrapped gently in some tissue paper, and wrapped it in some pretty, green paper. She was still smiling when she crawled back into the bed she shared with her husband. He was just beginning to stir and she knew in a few moments his alarm would go off, letting him know it was time to get up. Dari couldn’t wait, though. She brushed a loving kiss over his jaw, smiling again. “Wake up, baby,” she murmured. “I have something for you.” It had been years since Jeremy had regularly slept until noon. For some reason, though, waking up hadn't gotten any easier during that time. He groaned softly in protest when his wife brushed her lips along the line of his jaw and encouraged him to wake up. That was easily the last thing he wanted to do... especially when there was no hope of him going back to sleep, but it was hard to ignore the way that she was kissing over his skin. "Mmm..." he groaned as he wrapped his arms around her and pulled at her until she was laying beside him. "Don't wanna get up... alarm hasn't gone off..." He hadn't opened his eyes, but he leaned in and pressed an affectionate kiss to her cheek. Maybe he could convince her to lay there with him until it was really time for him to wake up. It had been like this between them since they were children. Dari had always been an early riser and Jeremy had always liked to sleep as late as possible. Sometimes she merely let him sleep; most mornings she was perfectly content to just curl up beside him and cuddle while he slept the morning away. Today, however, she was far too excited and impatient for that. Dari was easily distracted by her husband, though. She always had been and probably always would be. It felt entirely too good to be wrapped up in his arms and she couldn’t help melting into the embrace a little bit. Despite how nice this felt, she wasn’t going to be dissuaded from what she wanted, though. Her lips ghosted over his jaw before finding his lips. After a brief kiss, though, she pulled away rather than deepening it as she normally would. “Don’t you want to open your present, baby?” she asked him. Jeremy was more than happy to return the kiss that she pressed to his lips. Under different circumstances, he would've protested when she pulled out of the embrace. At the moment, though, he really wanted to sleep. A moment later, she was asking if he wanted to open his present, and the corner of his mouth pulled into a smirk. He definitely liked the sound of that. "Mmmm... are you my present?" he questioned. Rather than waiting for an answer, he began to pull at her clothing. There were very few things that he would willingly rise early for. She was one of those things. He never got tired of making love to her. Dari loved that smirk. It was incredibly sexy and it did things to her that no mere expression should be capable of. After more than a decade together, more than a year of marriage, her heart still skipped several beats when he looked at her like that. “I could be,” she returned automatically. Flirting with Jeremy came as naturally as breathing and she couldn’t help returning his smirk. It was far too easy to be distracted from even the news that they were going to have another baby when he pulled at her clothing that way. “That’s not what I was talking about, though,” she mumbled a little distractedly as she worked her lips over his jaw again. She still had the small package in one hand, a reminder that she hadn’t come in her to seduce him like she did so many other mornings. “I have a real present for you, too...” Granted, if he wanted to “unwrap” her first, she wasn’t likely to complain about that... A large grin moved over his features when she flirted with him. They had been together for more than a decade, but he still enjoyed flirting with her. It was something he didn't think he would ever get tired of. He hummed an approval when her lips began to work over the line of his jaw once again. That felt incredibly good, and he tilted his head with the intention of giving her a little more room to work. At the same time, he continued to pull at her clothing, and he was well on his way to undressing her when she mentioned that she'd been talking about something else. "Something else?" he questioned distractedly. "A real present? What present is that, baby?" He was interested in hearing about this real present, but his lips brushed over hers as soon as he questioned her. He wasn't trying to distract her. He simply couldn't help himself. Dari loved these moments with Jeremy. The way his hands and lips moved over her, the husky tone that crept into his voice when they were close like this. She loved him. More than anything in the world. Even after over a decade of being together, a lifetime of being best friends. She could never get enough of moments just like this. She didn’t protest the way he was undressing her. Why would she? She loved the feel of his hands on her body and that meant clothing needed to be gotten out of the way. Really, it would probably be simpler to just stay naked, but it got a little cold in the house this time of year and she’d had to get up to feed Taylor earlier. She’d only pulled on one of Jeremy’s shirts and a pair of his boxers, but it was clothing all the same. It wasn’t easy to remember she’d had another purpose in waking him with his hands tugging at that clothing and his lips pulling at hers, even with his distracted question. Some part of Dari was keeping up with the conversation, but for a moment even she forgot what it was she had for him. “You’ll have to open it if you want to see,” she murmured just as distractedly against his lips before she pulled him deeper into the embrace. Jeremy pushed his boxers over her hips and down her legs. That piece of clothing was lost under the blankets when she finally kicked her feet free, but that was the least of his worries. "Mmmm... so sexy," he breathed as his hands caressed over her bare bottom and urged her closer. It would probably be simpler for her to stay naked. Luckily, though, he enjoyed undressing her. He'd been joking when he'd asked if she was his present, but to him, pushing the clothing from her body was just as exciting as opening a gift. "Where's this present, baby?" he questioned as he pulled out of the kiss and pressed his lips to the side of her neck. "I'll gladly open it." ”Mmmm?” Dari was a little distracted by the way Jeremy’s hands were moving over her skin as he pulled her closer and for a moment she couldn’t remember what he was referring to. Gift? She was his gift, wasn’t she? He’d certainly done a good job of unwrapping her, she thought, as her curves pressed against him. The lips on her neck pulled a soft moan from her and she hummed her approval. That felt incredibly good. She could easily stay lost in him for hours. He’d just had his two days off, but she found herself wondering if she could convince him to stay home today. After all, she’d just gotten home from the cruise and they had an awful lot of time to make up for. The package she’d wrapped was still miraculously pressed into her palm and as she finally focused on what he’d asked her - it was hard to think when his lips were pressed to the side of her neck and his hands were making her feel so very good - she brought it into his line of vision. “Right here,” she murmured as she brushed her lips over his chest. She wanted him to open it. She did. She just couldn’t seem to keep her lips to herself. He smirked when it became obvious that his wife had forgotten what they were talking about. It was possible that he was just conceited, but he saw her brief confusion as proof that he was incredibly good at what he was doing. He hadn't needed proof, of course, but it was definitely nice to have. "Mmm.. present.. my real present.." he reminded her softly. His lips worked down the side of her neck and over her shoulder. Occasionally, he would pause to nip and suck at an especially sensitive piece of flesh. He knew which spots would pull the biggest reactions from her, after all. They'd been doing this since they were teenagers. When she brought the neatly wrapped package into his line of vision, his lips faltered in their ministrations. He was definitely interested in what they were doing, but his curiosity was piqued. He continued to kiss over her neck and shoulder for several long moments. Eventually, though, he pulled back. "You got me a gift?" he questioned, a little surprised. Jeremy was definitely good at this. Very, very good. They'd been doing this for over a decade, but the truth was that Jeremy had known how and where to touch her from the very first time. Dari's body reacted automatically to his, pressing against him as he touched and kissed her in all the right places. She hummed her approval as her own hands and lips moved over his skin. This with Jeremy came as naturally as breathing and she was easily caught up in what they were doing. When he pulled back to ask about the gift, she whimpered in protest. His lips felt so good. Why was he stopping? She quickly schooled her expression and flashed him a bright smile, though, as she remembered what was in the brightly wrapped box she was offering him. "I did," she confirmed, smirking as she added, "I think you'll like it, baby." Jeremy didn't miss the way that she whimpered in protest when he pulled away. Unfortunately, he'd already decided to open the present she'd been trying trying to give him, and her whimpered protest didn't change his mind. He would be more than happy to finish what he'd started once he'd opened the gift, though, and he assured her of that fact with one last lingering kiss. "It's not Christmas, yet..." he murmured as he shifted into more of a seated position. Despite his protests, he took the box out of her hands and fidgeted with it. He wanted to open it. He wanted to see what was in it. At the same time, though, he wanted to make sure that was what she really wanted. "You're sure you want me to open it now?" Dari did want him to open the gift. She did. She didn't especially want him to stop touching her, but she wanted him to open the package. Of course, when he pulled her into that kiss, she nearly forgot about everything again save for how good he felt. It was really unfair how good he was at that sometimes. "I'm positive. I want you to open it now," she confirmed, though she couldn't seem to keep her gaze from lingering on his lips. Had she mentioned how unfair it was that her husband was so incredibly sexy? "Alright…" Jeremy couldn't help but noticed how her gaze kept moving to his lips, and he smirked. As stated, he would definitely be willing to finish what they'd started, but he wanted to open the present first. After all, it wasn't often that she woke him with actual presents. He leaned in one last time and brushed his lips lightly over hers. When he pulled back, though, his full attention was on the package in his hand. It didn't take him very long to open the present, and once he had he stared blankly at the home pregnancy test. Did that mean… "Are you… pregnant?" he questioned after several moments. He thought the pregnancy test was positive, but it wasn't like he had a lot of experience with that sort of thing. If he was wrong… if the test was negative, he didn't want to get his hopes up. Not that it would make sense for her to make such a big deal out of a negative pregnancy test. Dari watched Jeremy's expression as he studied the test and processed what he was seeing. A slow, brilliant smile spread over her face when he questioned her and she nodded her head. "Yes, baby. I'm pregnant. We're pregnant. We did it..." it went without saying, but Dari was ecstatic. A part of her wondered if wrapping up the test like this had been kind of lame, but she was sure her husband would, at least, be just excited about this baby as she was. A large, bright grin moved over his features when she confirmed that she was pregnant, and without thinking about what he was doing, he wrapped her into his arms and urged her into an exuberant kiss. They'd been trying to conceive for months. Hearing that they'd finally succeeded made him beyond happy. Time had no meaning as he nipped and sucked at her lips. Eventually, though, he pulled out of the embrace. The kiss they'd shared had done nothing to damper his grin. "Really?" he asked for confirmation. "We did it? Finally?" Luckily, his questions were rhetorical because he urged her into another celebratory kiss before she could answer. Best. Present. Ever. That bright grin was married on Dari’s face and it only grew as he pulled her into his arms and kissed her in what could only be described as celebration. Dari returned the kiss happily, pouring everything into it. All her happiness, all her relief. They’d been trying for months. To say this was a good thing was a gross understatement. She lost track of time as they remained locked in the embrace and her eyes were moist with unshed tears of joy when he pulled back looking for further confirmation. Despite her tears, though, it should have been obvious that she was happy - so happy. This was everything she’d wanted for so long. Before she could answer, he was kissing her again. Dari didn’t object in the slightest. If anything, she melted into the embrace, trying to convey with her actions what she couldn’t seem to find the words for. Eventually, she had to pull back to take a breath, though, and when she did, she answered his question. “Really,” she breathed, nodding her head once more. It was possible she was getting a little overemotional, but that was to be expected. She’d been beginning to think they were never going to get pregnant again. All of that was easily forgotten now. “You should stay home today,” she informed him, giving him no chance to either answer or protest as she captured his lips with hers again, pressing her curves against him in a way that should have made it clear that she was more than ready to celebrate. |
