Meghan didn't resist in the slightest when he wrapped his arm around her shoulders and pulled her close. A voice in the back of her head reminded her that it was their first date, that they shouldn't get too close, but she dismissed it. She had the convenient excuse of being cold, after all, but deep down, she knew that wasn't the only reason she was allowing him to cuddle her.
When he began to speak, she turned her face up to his and smiled. She nodded when he explained that he'd planned everything in advance. She had known that. This date had been his idea. It quickly became obvious that he wasn't just talking about the date, though.
"You are a bit of a dork," she answered when he finally gave her a chance to speak. Her eyes sparkled mischievously, and she hoped that he realized that she was teasing. Just in case, though, she quickly added, "In fact, you're completely adorkable."
A broad smile stretched over her features when he asked if he could see her again. She quickly nodded in answer, but the bell rang before she could answer aloud.
Once they had gotten off of the trolly, she grinned up at him. "I would love to see you again," she assured him. "I'm going home for Thanksgiving, but... after?"
She walked close to his side as they made their way back to his car, and when he produced two pairs of flannel pajamas, she flashed him a grateful grin.
"I am freezing," she confirmed with a vigorous nod. "I had fun, but we might want to save future water fights for the summer. We don't want to end up with pneumonia."
Her expression changed slightly when he gently touched her face. She'd just been teasing him, but her expression turned somewhat serious. She wondered if he was going to kiss her... she could tell that he wanted to... she wanted him to, but she didn't want to make the first move. Not on their first date.
