Chandler and Allena weren’t prone to great, romantic gestures with one another, but that didn’t mean that Chandler wasn’t capable of doing a little something special for his girlfriend when the occasion merited it. Today happened to be their anniversary and he didn’t want the day to go unnoticed. He had requested the day off, although he hadn’t made a big deal about it to Allena. Instead, he’d acted as though everything was perfectly normal when she’d left for work this morning. Once she was gone, he’d set to work, though. The small gift he’d gotten for her was carefully wrapped before he set about readying the apartment for the evening he had planned for them. Chandler wasn’t an amazing cook, but he could hold his own in the kitchen. A fair portion of the day was spent working in the kitchen before transforming their table into something a little nicer than usual. By the time she was due home, there was a homemade dinner on a table that was dressed up with some candles. A bottle of wine was there chilling on the table in a bucket of ice, ready to be poured into the glasses that were set by each of their plates. A cd of some of their favorite music played softly in the background and Chandler had dressed a little more nicely than usual. He still wore jeans, but his usual t-shirt had been traded in for a nice button-up in a shade that nicely complimented the color of his eyes - not that he thought about such things. He merely liked the colors. He came to the door as he heard her key in the lock, grinning as he pulled her into a brief embrace. “Hey, baby. How was your day?” As horrible as it sounded, Allena had forgotten their anniversary every year since they'd begun seeing one another. It wasn't something that she did intentionally. She was simply rubbish at remembering dates. It probably went without saying, but this year was no different than any of the others. She'd gotten up and gone to work without realizing that it was their anniversary, and her memory hadn't been jogged when she'd written the date on a dozen different order forms. His presence in the apartment probably should've tipped her off, but she wasn't surprised when he met her at the door. In her defense, though, it was difficult to keep track of when he did and did not have to work because he was quick to pick up an extra shift whenever he could. A large smile moved over her features when she saw him standing there, and she moved into his embrace without really noticing what he was wearing. "All right, love?" she greeted as she brushed her lips over his. Why he was home didn't really matter, as far as she was concerned. She was just glad to see him. Some might think it was silly to celebrate an anniversary when you were merely dating. Chandler, himself, wasn’t ordinarily given to sap or grand romantic gestures. On this particular occasion, though, he’d wanted to do something nice for her. He wasn’t rushing to propose or anything like that, but as far as he was concerned, Allena was the one. Chandler took a moment to kiss his girlfriend, allowing his lips to linger on hers for several moments. He didn’t want their dinner to get cold, but he found it difficult to pull out of the embrace to lead her into their kitchen. It had, after all, been several hours since he has last seen her and he wanted to greet her properly. “Did you have a good day at work?” he questioned her when he pulled his lips off of hers. A moment later he was brushing another kiss over her lips. He didn’t think he could really be blamed for that, though. Kissing Allena was incredibly enjoyable. It was hard to stop once he got started. Allena didn't think it was remotely silly for them to celebrate their anniversary. She simply couldn't remember when they were supposed to do that celebrating. That probably made her a horrible person, but she genuinely couldn't help it. She'd never been good at remembering those sorts of things. Most of the time, she even forgot her own birthday. She didn't protest in the slightest when his lips lingered against hers. Quite the opposite, in fact. She wrapped her arms tightly around his shoulders and melted into the embrace. She was vaguely aware of the scents that filled their apartment, but she hadn't fully realized that dinner was waiting. "Aye," she answered when he pulled back to ask her about her day. "And yourself?" Like him, she couldn't seem to resist the urge to brush her lips over his between sentences. ”Good day... missed this really sexy chick I know, though,” he murmured. His eyes sparkled slightly as he brushed yet another kiss over his girlfriend’s lips. “You really should have just stayed home, played hooky. Our bed isn’t nearly as comfortable when you’re not in it.” Granted, that would have gotten in the way of his plans to surprise her with a romantic dinner, but that was beside the point. Spending the day in bed with his girl would have definitely been nice. Chandler dipped his head and kissed her again, letting his lips linger on hers. “You hungry?” he murmured when he pulled back again. Without waiting for an answer, he took her by the hand and started pulling her toward the kitchen. The corner of her mouth pulled into a slight smile when he answered her question. She knew that she was attractive. She didn't need him to reassure her of that fact. As ridiculously sappy as it sounded, though, she never got tired of hearing him say such things. "Mmmm... that right? Really sexy, you say?" Her smile widened when he told her that she should have stayed home. As tempting as that had been… as much as she would've enjoyed spending the day in bed with him… they both knew that she couldn't have taken the time off. Not only did Alex need her at the gallery, they needed the money. "I'll make it up to you tonight, love," she promised. Her eyes closed when his lips pressed to hers once more. She tightened her arms around his frame, and held him close as their lips lingered together for several moments. He pulled away before she could deep the embrace, but the question that followed kept her from pouting. "I am </i>famished</i>," she answered as he began to lead her into the kitchen. A moment later, Allena caught sight of the dining table. She grinned when she realized that dinner was waiting for them, but that grin faded a little when she took notice of the wine and candles. Instantly, she began to rack her brain for a reason behind the romantic gesture. October… twenty-sixth… bollocks. "I'm so sorry, Chand," she quickly began to apologize. "I forgot… again. I don't know why I am so thick." "Really, really sexy, he murmured. Chandler could have easily remained in this embrace with her and forgotten all about dinner. He had put some effort into preparing their meal, though, and he was glad she didn't resist when he pulled away. A grin moved over his features when she said she was famished. He'd been hoping she would be hungry. "It's okay, love," he reassured her when she started to apologize. He knew she wasn't good with dates and it didn't really bother him that she hadn't remembered their anniversary. "You're just getting senile," he teased her. "Luckily, you're really hot and I love you anyway...." He was obviously teasing, a fact he emphasized by smirking and winking at her. Allena shook her head when Chandler rushed to reassure her. It wasn't alright. She did this every year. It might have been alright the first year, but they were about to celebrate their third year together. As far as she was concerned, it was completely inexcusable for her to have forgotten again. "It's not," she protested. "I always forget. That's not alright." A heartbeat later, he was beginning to tease her, and she fell silent. He wasn't upset. He have every right to be, but he wasn't. Only an idiot would insist that he get upset. "Well… let's hope I stay really hot," she answered with a smirk and a wink of her own. She hated the fact that she had once again forgotten their anniversary, but she knew it was better to focus on celebrating it now that he'd reminded her. "I kind of love you, you know…" Chandler shook his head as his girlfriend continued to speak. He knew she felt badly, but he genuinely wasn't upset with her for forgetting. He knew she wasn't very good with things like dates. He also knew she loved him, whether she forgot their anniversary every year or not. He was glad she fell silent so quickly. He definitely didn't want her to focus on her guilt over forgetting when they could be celebrating and he rewarded her with a grin when she answered his teasing. "Let's hope so," he continued to tease her. "I kind of like having a really hot girlfriend." A heartbeat later, he was holding out a chair for her and gesturing for her to sit down. "I made it myself, so no promises on how edible it is," he quipped. Once they were seated, his expression turned mischievous once more. "You only kind of love me?" he teased her. "I guess I'm going to have to step up my game... Would it help if I told you I made dessert, too?" When he grinned at her, a large smile moved over her own features. While she felt truly horrible for forgetting their anniversary, she was glad that he was willing to move past it. After removing her coat and setting it to the side, she slipped into the chair he pulled out for her. Another smile moved over her features when he joked that the dinner he'd made might not be edible. She wasn't remotely worried about that, though, and she made something of a disapproving noise. They both knew that the food would be fine. Both of them were more than capable of cooking when they wanted to. "That depends, I suppose… what'd you make?" she questioned once he'd joined her. It probably went without saying, but she was teasing him. After all, she loved him a lot more than kind of, and the dessert he'd made had no real bearing on how much she loved him. Chandler was actually a pretty decent cook, so he knew the dinner he’d prepared for her would be edible. He enjoyed joking with her like this, though. Maybe a celebration of their anniversary should be a more somber occasion, but he and Allena had never been very serious, in general, and it felt natural to engage in their usual banter. He smirked when she asked him what dessert he made. Of course, he knew she’d only been teasing, but he was certain that she would be pleased with what he’d made. “Tracle tart,” he answered her, looking quite smug as he began to uncork the wine so he could pour them each a glass. It was possible that they should've been behaving differently. Allena was glad that they weren't, though. After all, she didn't think that they needed to celebrate their anniversary by pretending to be something they weren't. If anything, they should celebrate it by behaving exactly the way that they'd behaved when they'd fallen in love with one another. Something of an impressed expression moved over her features when he told her that he'd prepared her favorite dessert. It had no direct affect on her feelings for him, but she suddenly looking forward to that particular portion of the meal. "Tracle tart,, huh?" she questioned. "Maybe I love you a little more than kind of... you know... if it tastes good." She grinned brightly as she spoke in an effort to make sure that he knew she was joking. After three years, he shouldn't need that reassurance, but she gave it on the off chance that he did. Chandler was definitely on board with that kind of celebration. After all, he clearly remembered his first date with Allena. He'd fallen in love with her almost instantly. Maybe it was the connection between Alanna and George that had drawn them together so strongly, but Chandler had known then that she was the one. He smirked at the expression that moved over his girlfriend's face when he told her what he'd made her for dessert. He had been sure of her reaction, but he didn't mind seeing that she was so obviously pleased. "Oh, it'll taste better than good," he assured her. His eyes still sparked with mischief as he stood to prepare their dinner plates. A moment later, he returned to the table with the main course, which happened to be another of her favorites. Like Chandler, Allena remembered very clearly how their first date had ended. They had just met, but they had been unable to keep their hands off of one another. She wasn't sure if the connection between Alanna and George had drawn them together so intensely on that first night. She only knew that very little had changed in the last three years. They still had trouble keeping their hands off of one another, and the sex… well, it was easily the best she'd ever had. A smirk moved over her own features when he assured her that their dessert would taste better than good. She didn't doubt that in the slightest, and it was an understatement to say that she was looking forward to that portion of the meal. At the same time, though, the tone in his voice had caused a heat to flood into the pit of her stomach. "I suppose I'll have to thank you properly once we've finished," she commented as he returned to the table. Her eyes lit up when she saw the dinner he'd prepared for them. She'd never been the sentimental sort, but her expression should've made it clear that she was pleased. "Though… I'm pretty sure that this is going to taste better than you have ever tasted…" Chandler grinned broadly, his imagination easily coming up with a few ways she could thank him properly once they were finished eating. He was definitely looking forward to collecting on that particular promise. In fact, there was a part of him that would have liked to have skipped their meal altogether and skipped straight to her thanking him. "Keep talking like that and we won't even make it to dessert," he murmured. There was a teasing sparkle in his eyes, but his done was at least half serious. He was sufficiently distracted from his daydreams about just how she might go about thanking him for dessert when he brought out the main portion of the meal, though. Chandler beamed as his girlfriend's eyes lit up. Jokes about thank yous aside, this was why he had gone to so much trouble with dinner. They weren't normally sentimental or mushy, but Chandler would give anything to see the look that was on her face just now. "Is that right?" he questioned her with a soft chuckle. He couldn't help grinning again. It was obvious that she was both pleased and impressed with the dinner he had made them. Allena didn't show such emotions often and he couldn't help taking a moment to tease her. The corner of her mouth pulled into a smirk when he teased her. As much as she loved tracle tart, she would be more than happy to skip dessert… to turn him into dessert. Her desire for him never waned, after all. Unlike Chandler, she was not completely distracted by the meal he set in front of her, and she continued to smirk as she took the first bite. It probably went without saying, but the food was delicious, and a soft hum of approval built within her chest. "Mmmmmmm," she breathed, her eyes partially closed. "That's good… better than good." After taking a moment to fully appreciate the flavor of the food that he'd cooked, she winked at the man sitting across from her. Maybe it was rude for her to continue flirting with him, but she couldn't help it. "Keep talking like what, love?" she questioned softly. "Like… about how I plan to eat my treacle tart off of your very, very sexy body?" Chandler wasn't completely distracted by their meal, either. His mind was still on how he hoped to spend the remainder of their evening. He was just managing to not pull her into his lap and get started on that now. He groaned softly when she continued to tease him. It wasn't fair that she could arouse him so easily with just a few words. "Are you wanting to actually eat this dinner, love?" he murmured. His tone was jovial, but there was a darkness in his eyes that may have suggested he was partly serious. It was taking a fair amount of self control for him not to bend him over the table right now. Not that he thought she would object if he did, but he had put an awful lot of effort into preparing this dinner. He was trying to let her enjoy it. Allena took another bite of the dinner that he'd prepared and hummed softly. It was really delicious. She wasn't exaggerating her reaction. Of course, it was one of her favorites, and she hadn't had it in a very long time. "Is that a threat?" she questioned, her eyes sparkling with mischief. "It's not a very good one." It probably went without saying, but she had noticed the darkness in his expression. They were quite obviously teasing one another, but there was also a hint of seriousness behind what they were saying. After all, she fully intended to eat her dessert off of him, and she knew that he would interrupt this meal if she continued to taunt him. That knowledge didn't stop her, though. "I am going to smear my dessert on your chest and stomach. Then I'm going to slowly lick and suck and bite your flesh until it's clean..." She ate bite after bite as she spoke. She definitely appreciated the work he'd put into this meal, but she couldn't help but look forward to how they were going to spend the rest of the evening. Especially if he allowed her to tease him for any length of time. He could be quite rough when she got him worked up... Chandler was trying to be patient, but as much as he was enjoying their banter, Allena wasn't making it remotely easy for him to focus on dinner. He worked to focus on his food as he flashed her the occasional grin and returned her teasing remarks. It wasn't much longer, though, before his willpower crumbled. "C'mere," he all but growled as he pulled her into his lap. Without giving her time to protest, he pulled her into a deep, wanting kiss. His hands moved aggressively over her curves at he nipped and pulled roughly at her lips. Dinner was forgotten. Everything was forgotten except for how desperately he her. Allena had wondered how long it would take for his willpower to crumble, and she grinned wickedly when he finally pulled her into his lap. He didn't give her a chance to protest before he brought their mouths together, but that was alright. While she was enjoying the dinner he had prepared, she didn't intend to object. "Mmmm.." she hummed as her teeth raked roughly over his lips and tongue. "And a very happy anniversary to you, too." She fully intended to follow through with her promise to eat tracle tart off of his bare chest. At the moment, though, she was thoroughly lost in his embrace. Dinner was forgotten. Dessert could wait. As always, the entire world faded away when he touched her. |
