Rob was enjoying shopping with Bri. They'd found some things in the first store they went too. And the ones after that. He insisted that they hadn't found a GREAT gift yet. Most of it was the fact that he was in no rush to end their trip together. Rob enjoyed the time he got to spend with her. If it turned into most of the day or an all day thing, well he didn't care. The more time he spent with Bri, the more his thoughts wandered off. When his mind wandered off when they weren't together, it was Bri who often occupied his thoughts. Rob had tried talking himself out of the things he was thinking, especially considering he didn't even know her thoughts on the matter. Though as more time went by he was finding that he was running out of reasons not to give in to those thoughts. He glanced around at the shelves as he passed them, pulling his thoughts back to the task at hand. The longer they walked through the store, it was becoming evident that it really didn't have anything that they were looking for. Rob was certain that Will wouldn't scented candles or jeweled holders or weird animal knick knacks. When they met back up towards the front of the store, he slipped his hand into hers. "Lunch break?" he asked as he lead them out of the store. Bri was having a good time with Rob, too. She didn’t love shopping the way some other girls did, but she enjoyed spending time with him and she found that she barely thought about things like how much work she had waiting for her at home. It was easy to relax and just enjoy herself with Rob. When his hand slipped around, she looked over at him and smiled. It wasn’t unusual for them to be somewhat affectionate with one another, but she found that she really liked the feel of his hand around hers. “Lunch sounds amazing, I’m kind of starving,” she admitted. It had been easy to forget about food while they’d been shopping, but now that he mentioned it, she was definitely hungry! Rob liked the way they were affectionate with each. Whether it was cuddling during a movie, tickling her, or holding hands like they were currently. He was finding it happening more and more every time they hung out. And he really, really didn't hate it. He glanced over at her, a smile on his lips. "Oh I know just where we should go," he said, being completely vague. Rob wasn't sure if she'd found it herself, but either way he was sure she was going to love the food as much as he did. They walked through the crowds and made their way to a building that read Island Burgers and Shakes. It smelled good the moment they walked in. He didn't come here often but he always enjoyed it when he did. Once they grabbed a seat he picked up his menu and started to look at it. "Seeing anything you like?" he asked her over his menu. Bri liked it, too. She’d been trying really hard not to overanalyze it or think about what it could mean, but she really liked being close to Rob. She’d been leaning on him a lot lately, ever since JJ’s funeral. Everything just felt so much less overwhelming when he was holding her. She lifted her brow at him when he made that vague comment about knowing where they should go. Bri knew that tone. That was his “up to something” tone. Even as she eyed him a little suspiciously, though, she knew it wouldn’t be anything bad. She knew she could trust him. A grin spread across her face when they arrived at a really good smelling burger place. Oh, this did seem like a good idea. Bri flashed him a smile and nodded as they took their seats. “I don’t know how I’m going to decide! It all looks so good! What are you having?” she replied. There really was a lot on the menu that sounded amazing. Rob was having a hard time deciding on what to get. "Hmm. Deciding between the Bourbon Street burger or the Au Poivre Burger. There's so many good choices," he added, glancing back at the menu. "But I think I'm leaning to the latter choice. What about you?" After he got her order, he got up to go place the order and pay. While he was up there he ordered them extra fries and a milkshake. On his way back to the table he grabbed two straws and dropped them into the milkshake. "Smells good," he said as he set their food down. Bri studied the menu for a little while longer before making her choice and telling Rob what she’d decided on. It hadn’t been easy, but somehow she managed to narrow it down and pick something. She grinned as he went up to the counter and placed their order. It didn’t seem to take very long, which was fortunate, because Bri’s stomach was definitely rumbling a little. She hadn’t realized how hungry she was until she’d smelled all this good food! The grin on her face grew when she caught sight of the milkshake and extra fries. That looks so good and she couldn’t help humming her appreciation as she grabbed a fry and popped it into her mouth. The hum of her appreciation brought a bright smile to his lips. Rob was happy that she seemed to find this place as delicious as he did. He grabbed a couple fries and ate them. The fries alone were worth the trek out here. "Amazing right?" he asked before taking a bite of his sandwich. After he was finished chewing he pointed to the milkshake he got for them to share. "I heard their shakes were great too so I had to get one." He popped some more fries into his mouth. He couldn't help thinking this was a really nice day, yet again. Bri grinned in appreciation as she took a sip of the milkshake. If she were any other girl, she might have thought sharing a milkshake was a little... dateish. Bri hadn’t really gone on a lot of dates, though, and Rob was one of her oldest friends, so she didn’t really think anything of it. It didn’t take long for them to finish their food. Bri was starving and the food was so good. Even after they’d finished, though, she wasn’t in a big rush to get up. She was enjoying sitting here just talking to him. “So... where do you think we should try next?” She still hadn’t found Will a birthday present and she was really hoping Rob had some insight. Will was her best friend, but Rob was a guy and she didn’t really have any good ideas. Not to mention, she was trying to get a head start on her Christmas shopping, too. Christmas was just over two months away! That really wasn’t very much time! Sharing a milkshake was a little dateish. It definitely seemed like a good idea to him when he was ordering. Not to mention the more they spent time together, the more dateish like things seemed to happen. He hadn’t exactly thought about it or planned it but he didn’t hate that they happened either. Just because he was a guy and they were shopping for a guy, didn’t mean he’d have good ideas. He was hoping he was doing a semi good job at least though. He was never very good with shopping. In fact, for Christmas, he was probably going to require Bri’s help. Rob named a store that he was certain they could find something in. They had some of everything. It was worth a shot anyway. “I figure we can find something there,” he assured her. “So you are going to repay me by helping me with all of my Christmas shopping, right?” Rob asked her, grinning. It sounded like a great idea to him. Bri made a face when Rob asked her about helping him with his shopping. Not that she wasn’t happy to return the favor he was doing her, but Bri definitely wasn’t one of those girls who loved shopping. “More shopping?” she groaned, giving him a pained look. Her features smoothed into a smile a moment later, though, as they started to gather their things so they could make their way towards the store he’d named. “Of course,” she assured him more seriously. She reached for his hand without thinking about it, giving his fingers a small squeeze as they started to make their way out of the restaurant. “If you want me to help you, of course I will.” Rob wasn't the biggest fan of shopping either. But he figured having a female's perspective when he was Christmas shopping in a couple weeks would be helpful. Plus, he didn't see a negative side. Having Bri accompany him to give opinions meant spending more time with her. "Hey, someone has to help me figure out what to get my sister for Christmas," he said. "Plus its only fair. I am helping you," he teased, smiling back at her. His smile grew unconsciously as she grabbed his hand. "Thanks," he said, giving her fingers a light squeeze in return. "Now lets go find you that birthday gift." |
