Who: Barrett Barbosa and Caitlyn Kinsey What: meeting...? Where: Outside Ben's bar in LA When: 2amish one night... Rating: PG! Status: Scene Lottery!
Barrett hadn't had enough alcohol to be drunk, but he did drink enough that someone regular-sized would be. He wasn't someone who took that sort of chance though and so he had already made plans to meet back up at the bar near close and hitch a ride back home with Abby once she finished. Luck had it (for him anyway) that she got stuck on a evening shift and that meant he could traverse the town, get back to her and do his brother-in-law duty of making sure she was safe AND get a ride back to his bed.
Barrett came around the corner and looked up to see the parking lot, it wasn't perfectly lit and he didn't notice the commotion going on near the back of it in the dimmer section until he almost plowed into some guy holding a camera struggling with a girl. He didn't really catch everything being snarled back and forth, but there was a lot of swearing coming from her and taunts from him as he continued to press a button on the camera and the flash kept going in her face. But he did catch the guy saying something about how her bare white ass was going to make a great cover shot.
The girl was going for the camera mostly, but the guy made the mistake of pushing her, smacking her away and Barrett found himself suddenly grabbing the camera which was easily in his reach over the guys head and pulling hard towards himself causing the guy to be pulled away from the girl and the guy turned in surprize to find himself looking first at the chest then up into the face of a very angry black man. "Gentlemen don't hit ladies." Barrett gruffed out, even though he wasn't sure with a mouth like that the girl was a 'lady' persay. He yanked, the Camera came out of the guys hand completely and then Barrett threw it... hard and it broke against the building.
There was a howl, a whimper that escaped the guy who ran to the pieces of what was left of the camera while Barrett turned his attention back to the girl. He noted that her pants were undone and barely all the way up and in this light he couldn't see if the guy had hurt her... he opened his mouth to ask if she was hurt when suddenly he got tackled from the side by the guy.
... normally, anyone else that would have knocked them over, for Barrett it was sort of a stumble, a little grunt of surprize and then because the guy was actually trying to hit him Barrett found himself pulling the guy off and twisting while swinging whatever he grabbed away leading him to throw the guy a few feet. He wasn't sure but he was almost certain the guy cried out 'my camera! you asshole' right before attempting the tackle.
The guy landed and didn't move, Barrett only moved close and bent down to check that the guy was alive before standing up, turning, grabbing the girls hand and dragging her toward the bar door. "Black guys at scenes with unconcious white guys in LA don't give cops warm fuzzies." he told her. "So... that was all you back there agreed?"
