Who: Kyle and Penny What: Chat without Rose Where: LA, in a public restaurant When: 2pm Rating: PG? Status: Incomplete
For the past month Kyle had managed to bed his wife on a regular basis. He wasn't complaining. At all. The problem was that she had found a way to avoid getting suckered into his bed.... She chose the time and activity for today. And it didn't include their daughter.
For the past few weeks since their 'dinner', followed by Disney Land, followed by several other outings which tended to run 'late' at which point they'd stay the night under the guise of using the evening while Rose slept to 'talk' Kyle was able to distract Penny with 'other' things, and then it'd be morning and Rose would be awake and there wasn't time to talk, there would only be time to rush off. Kyle had gotten Rose several days while Penny rushed off to work in fact and then Penny would come home after a long day at work to find him and Rose and a whole evening of being a family.
And Kyle didn't want to ruin things with talking, he was scared of what she would say, of her telling him that as much 'fun' as they were having, she didn't want him as a husband anymore. So Kyle had been yes, distracting her from talking... and he wasn't complaining in the least. Penny was... well... quite wonderful when it came to pretty much everything.
But then she dropped an afternoon lunch on him, one that didn't include their daughter. It's like Penny caught on to Kyle using their daughter almost like a shield to stop them from talking seriously. Past few weeks they had fallen into a pattern of almost being like a family again and once Penny had moved into her own house Kyle had.. helped her christian the bed... several times.
But it was time to face the music, and Kyle was just a bit more on the panicked side of nervous when he arrived at the restaurant Penny had invited him to. After scanning the room he saw her, she had gotten a table that was a little secluded without being overly private, perfect for a private conversation and for anyone who wasn't into public drama... perfect for avoiding that. He slid into the seat beside her and offered her one of his best grins, hoping to charm her throughly.
"Hello love." he offered softly. She'd gotten him into this lunch this morning, while they were still in bed, naked, tangled up in each other and after he admitted to having no plans for lunch... he was fairly certain she had planned this in advance because he had last night distracted her from serious conversation by kissing every inch of her neck and licking his way to her breasts... he doubted she would let him distract her similarly in this restaurant.
