"Oh, I'm sure the puppy did," Nick returned, not at all believing that. He wasn't mad though, not even a little bit. He was far too easy going for that and he enjoyed the way they teased and pranked each other. If he was distracted, she'd be able to do it another time or two. After that he'd just be expecting it!
Keep her from going overboard? Because of her, he was thinking of adopting a puppy or a dog! Luckily his apartment allowed them. A smile formed on his lips as he thought about one day maybe needing a large house. Nick could see them having more than a dog or two, and hopefully a few kids too. It was easy to envision his future with Ella. He'd never been able to think past the here and now, until her. Maybe it was getting older, maybe it was watching his best friend settle down but he chose to think it was Ella.
