Kenny couldn't help but notice the smile, it was the same smile she used to have when talking about him. But he didn't feel jealous. actually, he felt kinda relieved. "Oh yeah." he said as he tried to find a way to ask that question. But what if she thought this coffee was about more than just asking forgiveness?
"I'm glad you guys got Brody in the band." he said then. "Sounds like he really made it work, and now you guys are out here, he's the best choice." he was trying to suggest to her that Brody was good, he was trying to say Brody was good for her and the band.
He looked down at his coffee and realised he was almost finish it, he took another sip and cleared his throat. "Listen, I apologized about ditching the band, but I should apologize about ditching you." he told her quickly. "We had something going me and you and I dropped it without any explanation... and it wasn't that I didn't like you." he told her. "You're awesome really."
And then he thought that maybe that sounded like he still had feelings... "Looking back, I know we aren't supposed to be together... I do think you're awesome, just... only as friend." he bit his lip and looked at her, worried she would be hurt. "Is that okay?"
Because Bee was awesome, she was nice, she rocked and they had clicked together, but Kenny had a lot of time to think about it, and a lot of their attraction had been based on their mutual love for music, how they clicked musically, it'd just seemed natural because they had made music together... but Kenny didn't 'love' her, Not like that.
