Her favorite candy and he remembered her coffee. She didn't have to tell him anything. And there were two gigantic cookies in front if her. Alright. That softened her a little bit. Enough so that she gave him a genuine smile and thanked him.
Bee dipped her finger in the whipped cream, that happened to have extra mocha syrup drizzled on top...just the way she liked it, and ate the whipped cream. Totally the best part about the drink!
"Careful...it's hot," Bee remarked without so much as a seconds hesitation at seeing his face. She said it all the time when she saw someone do that. She broke off a piece of the cookie and popped it in her mouth to hid the smile that started to tug at her lips. She held out the almost whole cookie and offered him some.
She reminded herself that while little things happened that made it seem like old times and that he still remembered the exact way she liked her coffee...it had been over a year of complete silence from him. He wouldn't have had any reason to possibly forget had he not up and left.
Really? That's what he wanted to talk about?
"I'm kind of loving it. Hanging out with my sisters, hitting the beach. The band working with Sean. Overall...pretty amazing." She wasn't being mean, at least not intentionally. That was what she told anyone when they asked her because it was so true. Though she hadn't meant to give him such a long answer but she was excited about LA. "How's Chicago?" She hadn't to put such emphasis on it. Honest. The bitter edge seeped into her voice before she could stop it.
