Spending time in Las Vegas was incredibly fun. It was a band reunion for his dad. They were doing a one show only reunion concert tomorrow night. His parents had told him about it and insisted that he fly down for at least a weekend. It was at that point he got the brilliant idea to have Tessa join him. So here they were in Las Vegas, raiding his parents minifridge and whatever else they wanted. They were more than a little drunk, stumbling about the Venetian. As they were passing by a chapel someone was calling to them, inviting them in. A couple needed witnesses so that they could get married. Standing there, witnessing the marriage of this other completely drunken couple, all Dexter was thinking about was Tessa. He glanced over, staring at Tessa for several moments. A slow smile formed on his lips. “We should get married,” Dexter whispered against her ear. He was sure that he could play it off as a joke if she said no but he stood there waiting, hoping she’d agree. That she’d say yes. It was great to be eighteen. Being eighteen meant that she didn’t need her parents permission to go away for a weekend, though she had gotten it. Dex’s parents were going to be around after all and how much trouble could they really get into. Tessa still found it odd at times that they were dating. Monogamous relationships had never been an option in her life. However, it was more than easy with Dex. He was her best friend next to her sisters. He was like her other half. Having drunk quite a bit, they found themselves witnessing a marriage in some corny little chapel. When he suggested that they get married, she couldn’t help but giggle some. It was funny. Tessa Prescott a wife? However, the alcohol in her stopped her from the protest she should have been giving. “We should.” Had she really just said that? Why the hell not? He knew Tessa's position on relationships and things like this. It was because of that he had never asked her out when he had wanted to, hadn't asked her to be his girlfriend because he was adhering to the rules she had set down. But those were gone now, right? They were dating exclusively so they had to obviously change. It was this reasoning that he was bracing himself for a negative response. He was certainly not expecting her to say that they should. Dexter had been prepared for having to give her reasons why they should. Thankfully he didn't need them. The alcohol was closing his system and his list wouldn't have been what it should have been. "Let's do it," Dex responded, looking from Tessa to the couple that was kissing. The blissfully happy, drunk newlyweds. "Right now." It was definitely the alcohol talking when she said they should get married. However, deep down... it was her love for Dex that made her want to do it right now. Of course it was the alcohol that allowed that love to shine through and actually make it’s way into her head. Otherwise, she would have never agreed to it. “All right. We should get rings though. Really nice rings, not the crappy ones they sell here. Ones that are us, but we can do that later. The crappy ones will work for now!” Pulling him into her arms, she pressed a kiss to his lips. Nibbling on his bottom lip, she was kind of excited about this. Reluctantly, she pulled out of the kiss and dragged him towards the front of the chapel to fill out the paperwork. It was the alcohol that prompted him to even ask her. Sober Dexter would have thought about it more but Drunk Dex was missing the filter between his brain and his mouth. Right now he couldn't care less though. He was about to marry Tessa. Whatever helped get him here was fine by him. He was completely in love with her and the only thing this marriage would change was a title for each of them. Husband and Wife. "We can do that later," Dex agreed. None of those cheap rings would do it. She needed a ring, a beautiful and very expensive ring. Those quarter machine rings just wouldn't be fit for the two of them. He was disappointed when Tessa pulled away from their kiss but he did suppose they needed to do that paperwork to get this started. And get it started before they sobered up. It didn’t take them all that long to fill out the paperwork. The guy behind the counter helped them along, likely having done this a thousand times before. This was really happening. No warning bells were going off. No sense that she shouldn’t really be doing this. Next thing she knew, the guy at the alter was asking if she’d take Dex to be her lawfully wedded husband. To have and to hold. All that jazz. He looked at her expectantly. Guess it was her turn to talk. “I do.” And she did. She really did. Then it was time to kiss again. Kissing between them was always good, but more than kissing was far better. Tessa pulled Dex into her arms and pressed a very, very passionate kiss to his lips. “God I love you.” “I do,” Dexter answered, when the guy turned to him for his answer. There was no doubt, no hesitation in his answer. Those words flowed out of his mouth easily and naturally. They both might have been drunk but somewhere in his mind it was clear that he wanted this. “I absolutely do,” Dex repeated, locking his gaze on Tessa. Once she was close enough, his hands reached out for her hips, pulling her as close to him as possible. His wife. “I love you, Mrs. Owens.” They were being ushered out now so the next happy, drunk couple could stumble their way to the alter. His arm was situated around her, directing them towards the exit. His hand roamed dangerously over her curves, gravitating towards parts of her body that would make other people very uncomfortable to witness. Once they were outside, his eyes scanned the streets until he found one dark enough. He turned right, into the darkness and pulled her to him. His mouth nibbling at the skin along her jaw, searching for her mouth. He took a few steps forward, pressing her back against the building. Tessa’s heart always sped up any time Dex pulled her against him like that. It was such a turn on, she sometimes didn’t know what to do with herself. Mrs. Owens. She couldn’t help but giggle at her new name. To her, Mrs. Owens, was his mother... someone much older then they were. Once they were outside and his hand roamed her body, her breath quickened in anticipation. The moment he found a dark enough street and he pulled her to him, she let out a small moan. Her senses were in overdrive when he pressed her back against the building. He knew how to work her up. “Fuck... I want you baby... Want you so hard, so bad.” Pressing her lips to his, she kissed him deeply and passionately. The way their hands and bodies were moving together, their marriage completely slipped Tessa’s mind. All she could think about was having him deep inside of her... filling her like no other man ever could. It didn’t take long for either of them to find their release. After a moment to regain their drunken composure, the pair headed back to the hotel room to continue their fun in their bed. What seemed like hours later, they finally fell asleep completely exhausted and sated. --- God her head was pounding. It had been a really long time since Tessa had gotten that drunk. Thank God Dex had been around to keep her from getting into too much trouble. Snuggling back against her boyfriend to hopefully sleep off the rest of her hangover, she opened her eyes momentarily to take stock of her surroundings. Everything was in decent condition and all look familiar. She was just about to close her eyes again when she spied the ring on her left hand. It was one of those cheap rings that, if left on long enough, would leave a green mark in its place. Where had she gotten it? Something possessed Tessa to look at Dex’s hand and then she saw it. An exact duplicate of the ring she had was on his left hand as well. Bits and pieces of the night before started to come back to her. She remembered witnessing another couple getting married. She remembered ‘I dos’ being said. Had that been her and Dex? Then she remembered him calling her something that made her giggle. Mrs. Owens. “Tell me we did not get married last night.” Dexter had been sleeping. It was one of those dead sleeps where you don’t even dream. Nothing was causing him to stir, especially not when he was sleeping next to his girlfriend. He was completely content, and drunk. It was a perfect, blissful sleep until his girlfriend was pulling him from it. And not in the way most of their morning start if she wants him to be awake. The words barely made it to his brain. He felt as though he was underwater and she was yelling it to him. “Shhhhhhh,” he said, opening his eyes and shutting them immediately. God that was bright and only increased the pounding in his head. He’d been pulled too far from his sleep that when his girlfriend repeated herself, he actually heard it this time. Dexter thought back to the night before. He remembered their detour before making it back here. They were coming from...oh they had...they were married. “Uh...” Dexter said, staring down at the cheap ring on his finger. “I think...I think we did.” When Dex refused to pay attention and answer her question, Tessa repeated it. Her head was pounding, but she needed to get to the bottom of this. However, when he answered, her stomach did a flip. They were actually married! Oh God... how was she supposed to explain this to her parents? Then again... what did she care what they thought? She’d bargained her way through high school with them and managed to do what she wanted the majority of the time. Tessa had never hidden her tattoos or her piercings from her parents, so why should she hide this from them? On the other hand, who was she to be getting married? At eighteen, no less. She had never honestly thought marriage would be in her future. Who needed the hassle of it. Then again... she’d thought the same about relationships and she and Dex had been together since September exclusively. Rolling over to face her husband, she used her fingers to hold his eyes open. That was the only way she knew he’d be paying attention. “What are we going to do?” Dexter batted her hands away from his face and covered his eyes. He could very much pay attention without her doing that. And right now he was tired, with a hangover and a headache. It was making him slightly grumpy. They were married. There was nothing they could do about it right this minute. The pounding in his skull from the current hangover he was feeling, that he could fix. He could sleep that off, he could drink water. “I don’t know Tessa,” he answered, doing his best not to sound annoyed. Could you really blame him. This was not something you wanted to wake up to after a night of partying like they had. Quite frankly, it was a miracle they made it back to the right room and he knew his name! Slipping out of bed, she pulled on the nearest piece of clothing... which happened to be his collared shirt from the night before. Well it was obvious that they couldn’t get this thing annulled. Tessa was sore in all the right places, though her head was pounding. When she turned the light on in the bathroom, she flinched. God, that was bright. Digging around in her toiletry bag, she found the bottle of Advil. Taking out three, she took on of the glasses from the sink and filled it with water. She swallowed down the magic little pills and then refilled the glass of water. Bringing the same out to Dex, she held it out to him until he took it. “We’re married. I’m newly eighteen and a senior in high school and we’re married. That’s not so bad, right? It could be worse. I could be pregnant again.” |
