Jess had filled her nights with church a lot this week. She'd been feeling slightly…odd. Her thoughts were not on her studies as much as they should have been. In math, she could barely keep herself from sneaking glances at Seth and thinking about that kiss. It was a short kiss; short, sweet and unexpected. It shouldn't have happened. Had her parents seen, she would have surely been in trouble.
Her father was at work and her mother was taking her sister to a birthday party. This wasn't a date she'd told them. Because it wasn't. At least, she didn't think so. One, it was impossible he wanted to date her. Two, she couldn't date him. She was certain there were very few people that held her same values.
Perched on the edge of the couch, Jessie sat there chewing on her lip. When she heard a door shut she knew he was here. Still, the knock at the door nearly made her jump out of her skin.
She smoothed her dress, making sure it hadn't caught on anything. That would be embarrassing. She pulled open the door to see Seth standing there.
