Do you have ideas for a character or a line that you're dying to write? Maybe you'd like to see multiple versions of the same character learn that they aren't the only one to exist. This is the place for you. The Hostel has no setting. It isn't even a real game community. This is a place for you to bring your forgotten muses, the long missed characters, or new voices to try. Here, you can post open logs, dms, net/journal posts, ic/ooc events for any character from any fandom in any universe. All are welcome here- fandom characters, original characters, those with prior game history? If you can imagine it, then you can post it. PREMISE ! GUIDELINES ! FAQs ! CODE I've created thehostel, an open PSL community for players to test voices, dabble into old characters, find new friends, and generally just write. There's no app, no activity requirement, no mod-created setting, and all I ask is that you read and acknowledge the guidelines. And be a reasonable person. [11 Jun 2025|10:21am] carrahmay Hello, June! Happy Pride Month to you, my friends. I feel like I haven't really done much since I've updated. Junkyard closed, DTE opened, I have Jane Grey (onceaqueen) and Lyra Keres (hadeschoice) there. The quick updates for May/first part of June: I went downtown for baseball and then later to Cleveland for baseball, and the Guardians have been losing a lot recently. I fell down the whole rabbit hole when the conclave was happening and had my own Opinions, cross stitched, made some new internet friends, snuggled cats, changed my hair color, joined a reunion chorus whose gala is this weekend, visited a buuuunch of indie bookstores, and I've been enjoying the cicadas outside. Internetwiiiiise DTE has a lot of players. Many I've written with, some that I haven't, and I created a player challenge spreadsheet for myself to track Players & Characters, and to note when I've done a log with them. If anyone else would like to use it (or any of the pages there), by all means feel free to make a copy! You can see how I've used it here. It's coded to calculate a percentage based on the number of players and the number of "yes"-es in the scene column, because I like stats & numbers & spreadsheets. I figure I'll add new players/characters as they arrive and intro themselves, and I have the drops page tracked to remove them later if needed. Wishlists are just characters I think would get along or we've briefly chatted connections with in the past, not anything I'm dead set on and if I don't have one yet it just means that I don't know your characters as well! But it's been great to write with some friends that I haven't written with in aaaaages and to try my hand at someone entirely new for me and to bring back Lyra. She was a bit of a compromise to myself- instead of picking up Katniss, she has a siiiimilar vibe but is a little more outgoing than Katniss is. I still need to get Lyra more involved in things, but I've got a couple of logs going for her and I think that's not too bad of a start! And I've realized that I'm not as good at comment wars, so while I try to comment, I get lost easily in the big posts and I think that's where some of my disconnect can be with new games? I'm much better at writing scenes. But please please poke at me if you want/need me to get back to you on netpost/journal comments! Or if you want to thread something. I'm always up for silly adventures or shenanigans. I do plan to reach out to some people about writing things, but it probably won't be until after gala this weekend. I'm debating a third at DTE- I want a boy to balance things out a little, but I don't have any strong voices yet. I could create an OC based in a known universe, maybe? I think I just don't know most of the big/popular fandoms in RP, so I end up picking up characters nobody knows. Decisions! BUT! If you're familiar with My Lady Jane or The Games Gods Play and might consider writing anybody from either universe, let me know? I would looove to have some canon mates for either of mine. 5 +
