"I'm smart too you know, and I'm not afraid of you." Also only a half truth, there were times when Mike was afraid of Harvey, but it wasn't ever in the same way that other people around the office were afraid of him. Harvey had given him a chance to do something with his life, and Harvey was the person who could take that away faster than anyone else. Mike would be stupid not to be just a little afraid. Chuckling Mike nodded, "Yep, I'm definitely getting better at this getting it stuff."
Being here, this place, and the people in it - were really messing with their dynamic. Mike hadn't been completely aware of it, not with the way he'd thrown himself into the classes and focused on all the new information they were getting. He hadn't been able to help himself really, he had loved that just a little, but laying there beside Harvey Mike could really see how messed up this was.
He couldn't help the snort though when Harvey spoke, "It really is going to be okay Harvey," Mike assured him once more. "There are worse things than being here, and they're working on getting us back. It's going to be fine." Mike didn't know and didn't want to think about how long they were going to be stuck there, but he knew they'd be all right. Harvey just needed some time to adjust, to being something other than the best closer in town.
In the end turning away was really the better option, because he could keep laying there with Harvey looking at him - far too close, or he could roll onto his side and let Harvey have what he clearly wanted. And given their current situation Mike didn't think there was anything wrong with needing a little comfort. He pillowed his head on his arm tucked under his head and let Harvey pull him closer.
