He was half way to telling Mike to get out when he simply clenched his jaw, to force the words to stay in his mouth. “Tell me what’s really bothering you,” Harvey tempted gently, leaning forward a little bit so it wouldn’t look like he was bored and gazing into the distance. Mike was usually lighthearted and childish, did things that while he pretended annoyed him, actually made his day. But he could practically feel the stress weighing him down.
“Fine,” Harvey said with a shrug, looking back down at the cheap material of his pants. He ran his hand over his well-past-five-o’clock-shadow, actually unable to remember the last time he’d gone this long without shaving.
“I’m sure we’ll all be the best friends,” his voice was sarcastic but a little bit more lighthearted. Harvey nudged Mike’s shoe with his own bare foot. “Geniuses apparently seem drawn to me, after all.”
