Eliot looked up at the buildings and houses outside the base as they walked. "Snipers may be a problem. There are plenty of places to perch. From what I can tell this world's law enforcement runs similar enough to ours, so the pattern of attack should be close to the same. Getting off base will be the most difficult part."
He looked over to her. "The nerds will want to bring their computers, and that'll slow things down. We can't tell 'em to leave them. Is there a safe spot they can be dumped and retrieved later outside the base, somewhere only you or someone as small or adept as you can get to them?"
Eliot was serious about making sure people would be safe. No matter how much training you had, unless you'd experienced certain things first hand - and second and third hand - you were going to panic. It was a fact. Chain of command or not, this is what he and Parker did: helped ordinary folk against the big, bad things.
