RP: John and Leon, John and Dom Who: John Connor, Leon Vance, possibly Dom Vaile Where: Vance's Office, then the house When: Wednesday, August 10, 2011 -- late afternoon Summary: John has some things he needs to talk over with Dom, but first he needs permission.
Talking to Reid at the swearing in ceremony Monday had reminded John that he couldn't just focus on this thing with Brian, no matter how much he cared or was learning to like sex. He had a mission, people depending on him. And, he couldn't fulfill that mission until they found a way to get home. And that he couldn't do if he spent all his free time in bed.
But, spending time with Brian and talking to him helped him, too. He could talk to Brian about the things he'd really seen and done, the things he shouldn't forget, and if meant memories of things like hacking terminator chips and time travel, what he'd learned from Cameron, were kept fresh in his mind. He was still convinced there was something useable in what he did know of the TDEs and how the machines moved through time. Feyman's alternate histories, Everett's interpretation, it was all connected. Honestly, Cooper and Dom probably knew more about how to find the actual method of open the pathways between dimensions than John. But, time theories could hold the key to navigating those dimensions.
John needed to talk things over with Dom. They'd all been working separately and they needed to start comparing notes, breaking the problem down. Even though there were a few of them now, Dom still seemed to be the other one besides John who could organize a research team.
Before he could do that, however, John wanted to talk to the Director. He'd broken protocol once. He'd rather not betray his trust in John any further. John liked Vance; he'd been good to him. And, Derek would have ripped John a new one if he disregarded orders. Couldn't learn to give them properly if you were incapable of taking them, he'd say. So, Wednesday afternoon found John heading up to Vance's office before the end of the day. If anywhere in the Center was secure, it was that office.
"Do you have a minute, Sir? I need to talk to you about something."
