"I like you alive, so that's very smart," she answered, looking up at him. She wasn't joking like he was, but the idea that he would get hurt made her sick to her stomach.
"Nice to know," she answered, but she was blushing again as her mind raced to think of the reasons why clothes might come off, or why Marty was even saying anything like this. It was confusing after everything he'd said about no relationships and being alone, but now he was talking about forever and clothes and it made everything better again.
"There is something better," she said softly as she put the cup back on the table. "I can think of other things." She rested her hand on his cheek, before leaning closer to kiss him, tasting the chocolate on his lips.
