All of this was becoming routine - classes, training, making the rounds, preparing for the next day, hell even Robert ending up in his bed was working itself into that routine. It chaffed, Mike was used to things changing almost constantly, he was used to moving around, it was half the reason he'd gotten a boat in the first place. It was a place that would always be there, even if he had to move around, but this - a house with people he was directly responsible for?
He preferred his field job to this. Mike looked up at Robert with a lazy smile though when he spoke up - it seemed their thoughts were running parallel for the moment.
"I don't know, Callen always seemed a little slow on the uptake when it came to things like real relationships - I think you'll be safe from that." Now Savannah on the other hand, but she had her wedding to plan and hopefully that was more than enough to keep her occupied for the foreseeable future. Mike did not need the girl getting it into her head that anyone besides herself was ready to get married.
"I was just thinking about my boat. I never get enough time on her - what with the job, and then being made lead agent, and now this?" He lifted his shoulders and sighed. "That'd be nice right about now, getting away from all of this - setting out until there's nothing but water on all sides." He nodded. The longer he stayed in the city the harder it was to forget about everything that had happened here in the past, the good and the bad.
