Derek grinned. "I can't give away all of my secrets, can I?" he said, looking up at Tim. "But if you don't want the beer, I'll drink two, and you can drive home. It's fine." Not that he had any intention of doing that. Regardless of who was driving, he was going to be lucid.
"Kind of an asshole? I still don't get how you can be kind of an asshole. Perhaps you can explain it to me, because I consider myself a smart man and I can't figure it out." He was still smiling as he stared at Tim. "If you train, then it won't go off on accident. That's why we're here, Tim. I would have loved and underground bunker capable to withstand nuclear explosions for you to train in, but we'll have to make do with what we have."
He ripped the bag in half and rested it on the ground, so they could put the food and drinks on top. "I wouldn't discount it. We're a secret, Tim. It's hard to keep a secret when you go off and destroy things and kill people. You become a liability, and any advantage you could give them is offset by the problems. Maybe not Antarctica, but I bet they have their own underground bunker."
