Re: G and Peter
"There are a few kids out there with good heads on their shoulders." Of course, if you kept a drink in your hand, you had a ready weapon, constant supervision over your drink, and a screen for covert conversations with the techs back at the office. But, this wasn't a conversation about the uses to which G used teenage street wisdom in his job. This was supposed to be fun.
G wasn't sure many others found work 'fun'.
The other man's use of pronouns wasn't lost on G and he nodded, running with the implied impression. "We don't have much choice, really. We don't belong here and we're the only ones who understand how hard this is on all of us. If we don't work together, we're only hurting ourselves." taking another sip of his beer, G turned to look at the assembled group for a moment before returning his full attention back to Burke. "I'm organizing an information and skills exchange to get us started training as a team. Each person taking a turn at training the others in their particular expertise. Not sure how much we'll get to before the first of the year. The holidays and all. But, we can all stand to learn something from the others."
G grinned. "Good. We'll all meet here before we head out. I've already seen to getting the food and gifts, with Savannah's help. So, all you need to bring is a bit of Christmas spirit."
