How the man who saw the glass as half-empty had come to be in a position to convince anyone it was half-full was a mystery to G. And, not in an op, where the story is given to lull the mark into relaxing and giving up whatever it was G needed to get. Yet, that's what it felt like he was doing here. It was one of those rare times when he was responsible for bringing up the mood of a teammate -- only, more important because this was Sam's daughter and Sam's relationship with her on the line if G fucked this up.
"Start with just coming down and spending some time with him. It doesn't have to be something big and important. Just joining us to watch the game or something simple." Tilting his head so he could better look her in the eye with how she was curled up in the chair, the corners of his mouth just barely turned up in reassurance. "Get comfortable in each others' presence, comfortable having the other there. The conversations will come after you're both more comfortable."
