Summary: They search for a dress
Today looked like fall had descended on New York City. Gone were the upper 90s of the previous week, but instead it was a chilly 65 degrees with a gray sky. Rain was on the horizon. Savannah didn't know if this was a good or bad sign, but she wasn't going to wait any longer for a dress. The rest she could do on her own or with Marty, but this was something that she wanted to do with her family, even if G was barely talking to her at the moment. To be fair, she wasn't going out of her way to talk to him either. Every time they talked, they seemed to argue, and she didn't want to argue, especially today.
After four shops, countless dresses, rude saleswomen and not one that fit, she had changed her mind. Maybe arguing with someone would take her mind off the fact that it was impossible to find a decent dress that didn't cost as much as a house. The dresses were too tight, to simple, too expensive, always too 'something', and she was ready to cry. Sure she wanted the perfect dress (which she hadn't even found yet), but she wasn't willing to spend tens of thousands of dollars for it, and the ones that didn't cost that much were downright ugly.
"Did you like anything?" She knew that he probably should have been asking her that question, but she was sure that her face said it all. "Maybe we should just-" Not give up, but pretty much. "Wait for the paperwork and get married, it takes thirty minutes and it's done. We don't even have to tell anyone."
