RP: April and Derek Who:April and Derek Where:The base When: June 8 Summary:April hasn't been feeling like herself lately
Ever since discovering what her power truly was, April had been slightly off her game. It wasn't so much that she didn't do what she was supposed to, she did and there was nothing wrong with her work, but she didn't seem to be able to get her heart into it.
It didn't help that there were so many other things happening at once either. Peter's death, new people, a new house, new room mates, new rules, the worry about Eliot's unhappiness (she still didn't understand what she'd done wrong) and apparent anger.
Mostly though it was the knowledge she now had, that with enough practice, she could kill someone without the use of a gun, or knife, or anything but her mind. She would be able to kill more than one person at the time either. Yes it still far off, but one day she would be at that point. Already she was working much faster than she had before. Now that she knew what she was actually doing, learning to control it was a lot easier. She guessed it would be even faster if she didn't keep thinking of exploding people whenever she trained.
The past two nights she'd been restless and had had trouble sleeping, that's when she realized that she couldn't go on ignoring things. She needed to talk about this and not to Mikey and not to Savannah, which left precious few people she could talk to. G and Derek. She trusted both of them, and she knew they both knew of her power. In the end though it felt natural to talk to Derek about it, especially after the way he'd helped her with her gun issues. She hoped he could help her with these ones too.
They'd spent the night at the range shooting when she brought it up. She was shooting without contact now, much steadier than she had been before. Derek's presence there still helped her calm down, but with these new changes in her she felt the gun wasn't as big a threat as it had been. That's where her mind was when she turned to Derek after finishing up. "I was hoping you'd have a moment to talk?" she asked. "I have some things that I can't seem to think my way out of and could use some help. Unless you're busy, in which case I can wait." She took up enough of his time already.
