Re: Eliot/Derek
The amusement was gone pretty quickly, and he went from understanding Callen's frustration to knowing what he felt. He was a lot more understanding with civilians, not so much with people who should understand the need to follow rules.
"This wasn't a suggestion. This is part of the rules. You don't get to pick and choose what you obey. You get the protection and money of this agency and in return you do what you're told. It's how it works," Derek answered. "You want to come up with ways to deal with the rule, then I'm all years. Putting some machines to train in the basement is doable if you want to pay for the equipment. Otherwise, there is time scheduled in our workday for training. You can train then. There is no reason to do it at 0230 when you have the whole day to do it."
Derek looked at Spencer for a moment. "Fine, then tell me how you would ensure the safety of twenty nine people with different levels of training, with some who have none. Give me a credible alternative, which includes sleep, since we still have a day job and then we can talk."
