Re: Dom/Jenna
"That'd be very thoughtful of you, considering that it would be your fault to begin with. You could gain a hundred pounds and have acne and look horrible. I wouldn't have the same urge," he said, still smiling.
"It is a good way for me. I didn't get all my degrees without enjoying the work." He knew that people didn't understand how theoretical math could be interesting, but he loved it just as much as the practical applications. "I'm not that much of a geek that I can't put it down when I have company."
He nodded, because it hadn't been what he'd meant, but it was still a good answer. "Is everyone asking that question?" he said after a moment. "I remember when I started working, and dealt with the first homicide, I got a few claps on my back and a couple of 'you'll get used to it'. Only Nate, our psychologist wanted to talk. When something went wrong with Kensi, they tried to talk to her, even though she was used to it and she was a more experienced agent than me, certainly better equipped to deal with things. I never understood if people assume that women are more emotional and react more strongly or if they are just more comfortable asking a woman. I think the later is probably more accurate." He couldn't see him and Sam or him and Callen sitting down talking about feelings. "I also know that Kensi always said that everything was fine. You can't really say anything different when dealing with Sam and Callen; they are like super agents. If you ever want to talk to someone who's not a super agent, but a geek, then you know where I live, although not today, because it's a nice day," he added with a grin.
