Re: Parker and Neal
Parker nodded, she had never needed excuses before - she'd never let herself get close enough to anyone to need them, but she was starting to see now that sometimes even when you didn't mean to people got close. People like Nate and Sophie and Hardison and Eliot. Whether you'd meant for it to happen or not. "I never did much talking before." She hadn't needed to most of the time and she hadn't felt the need to make the effort those times when she did.
"It's easier when you don't care." Parker sighed, that more than anything was what had weighed on her since she'd talked with Eliot. If she didn't care about the team she wouldn't be letting herself feel bad now, she wouldn't be worrying about them and hating how there wasn't anything at all she could do for them.
Shaking her head again Parker continued. "No, it wouldn't. Do I strike you as the sort of person that needs good company?" Parker asked, almost amused by the idea that anyone would think that was something she needed, but then maybe that was just another one of those things people said when they were sad. "It -" She stopped and looked over at Eliot nodding. "He tends to go for a more direct approach than I ever used, you too actually, but yes he's like us. It's good having him here." She'd missed that connection, even when she hadn't realized it.
