"Me neither. Being a criminal meant I could use the 'Sorry, I'm a wanted man' excuse," Neal said, looking around at the others milling about. He felt a little bad for not getting to know his new housemates yet but the situation was still too weird for him; with a house full of housemates and April all moved out, it didn't feel like his house anymore.
"I can see why that would make things more difficult," Neal said with a small smile. "I used to pretend that I didn't care what anybody thought of me, especially when I started working with the FBI."
"It's not every day," he agreed. "But then if it was commonplace, it wouldn't mean as much, would it?" He paused. "I'm sorry, I'm not the best company today. Must be nice with you having somebody from your team around finally, right? I haven't spoken to him yet. Is he... Like us?"
