Re: Derek/Tim
"I'd rather punch someone than run." Tim said when Derek asked how he'd done with his guessing, which Tim knew he'd tell him wasn't really guessing, but it still felt that way to him. Like Morgan just looked and guessed, only he always guessed right, or close enough to it in any case.
It didn't make it any easier having Derek tell him how he was feeling, trying to tell him that everyone else was feeling the same way. It just made it worse, made all of that fear and anger twist up tight and ugly inside of him and made him feel like he couldn't hold it in.
"You shouldn't just be able to move on from that." Tim said shaking his head when Derek squeezed his shoulder. "He's dead, Peter is dead and he's never getting home to whatever life he had before he came here. How do you just move on from that? Knowing it could be you next time? He was just doing the job, he was out there and he got killed and he didn't even ... fuck." Tim swore as too much came spilling out of his mouth.
"I can't do this, I can't do this job - I told you when we started and you didn't want to hear it. I'm not that guy." He didn't care what that made him, the dumb hick he'd always known himself to be or maybe a coward or something else - not right now, not after seeing Peter like that today.
