Mike sighed as he stood the near window looking out at the darkened sky. He had just been starting to like Peter. It was a shame. A real shame. He couldn't lie though, he was glad to get off the base and finally see some action again. He allowed himself a small smile that he was careful to hide with his hand. So he and April were making quite a bit of action of their own. But, this was different. He was doing something. He was doing his job. Even if it involved driving an ambulance and interviewing people. And okay, he did his job other days, too. But it was still good to get off base, even if it was for a bad reason.
He rubbed his forehead thinking. If they could figure out what drew the ... heart attack man? asshole? son of a bitch? ... then they'd be closer to catching him. There were likely some people in the government who were talking right now of whether they were too much hassle. A dead operative usually brought about such conversations. They were always under the threat of having to run. Right now that threat felt more severe.
