Callen and Clay
G's first priority that afternoon was to get acquainted with the other new arrivals. He intended to spend some time with his brother -- and wasn't that still an insane word to be thinking seriously -- but, he also needed to start getting his own head back in the game and taking care of the things. The fact it didn't seem anyone else had thought to continue these gatherings bothered him. G might let Savannah take lead in organizing them. But, she had his full support. The socializing wasn't something he was good at. Still, he had seen the benefits of these get togethers after awhile and he was disappointed to see how little had been done to integrate the new arrivals, even if there weren't classes or barbeques.
And given the wide range of people that had just come through, that was more important with some than others.
He wanted to talk to Cooper after his talk with Dom. But, G saw him talking to April and decided he was in good enough hands for the moment. Closer to him and of more interest, if G was honest, was Clay Morrow. Morrow was what G considered a border case. Man could either be an asset or a liability, depending on his mood and whether he could be convinced to play ball. And, frankly, G wasn't sure how many of the others would be able to talk to the Morrows on the right level. Even the 'criminals' amoung them were 'soft core' where the Morrows were hard core. He wasn't sure he could, but he liked a challenge.
"Mr. Morrow," he greeted the man casually as he approached. "Callen. I'll be overseeing evaluations on Monday," he added, getting right to topics of a business nature. "I assume you and your wife intend to qualify to carry now instead of taking the option of putting in the hours first? Did they explain the training program we have set up?" G assumed they would have been briefed, of course. But, assumptions, even loosely stated like the one he'd just put out there, were the lazy man's way out.
